Idk, the episode was good bc it was R&M but something seemed off to me. There was a lot of divorce talk that just got boring and then after summer spent a 5 minute monologue on facial hair and caring/not how you look I just knew this episode was written by a woman.
We get it, divorce sucks, didn't have to remind us 38 times in one episode.
It scares me because last year when I read about the writers needed "a woman's perceptive" and hired a whole team of women writers it bothered me.
Then I compared the episode to the April Fools one which to me was way funnier and I found this:
It makes sense why the writing seemed poor to me. I'll give pickle rick a chance before I pass judgment but I'm worried. It looks like they may have succumbed to the SJW agenda. To me it makes sense. They promised 14 episodes and we are down to 9 or 10. I bet Justin and Dan axed 4 of the shittier "OMG women are funny" episodes and still were reluctant to put this season out. They probably had to re-write some of the weaker material and that would explain the delay.
Also the synopsis was something like "Summer goes off on this one broh" and they obviously "edged" her character up.
I'm willing to bet on it.
We will see if Pickle Rick can hold up. I have nothing against women writers, and some can be funny and great but this seemed forced.
