Finishing up re watching GOT again for the second time. I have rewatched
Justified
The Shield
Sopranos (3 times)
Law and Order
The Wire

Many of these get better the second time around. Do you find you like a series the second time around?

I’m about to start Black Sails rewatch #3 when it releases on Netflix this month.

For some shows, a rewatch is necessary. Dark is the best example. The only series I ever thought was worse on a rewatch was True Blood.

We should do a rewatch thread. That was a fantastic show.

I've seen The Office like 37 times through now.

I love rewatching with my kids as they become old enough to see it. On my third rewatch with my second kid now. My favorite show of all time.

If I like a series and think it’s really good, I absolutely do a rewatch, usually multiple rewatches over time. And yes, I generally like a good show even better on subsequent views. It’s easier to pick out more details and underlying themes and foreshadowing.

I generally have a rewatch or two ongoing, usually a drama and a comedy, along with a new show or two in rotation. It works well for me because if I’m fully engaged I can binge whatever interests me at that time or if I’m perhaps tired or disengaged I can put on my comedy rewatch and still enjoy. Helps me break any monotony.

I always do a LOST rewatch and find myself so in love with the first few seasons.. I watch it quick and get burned out and stop.

I did a rewatch a year or so ago

I swore it off but told myself to stop after season 5 and I did. It was fricking awesome. I would rewatch it every year before the final season happened

Highly recommend

I just re-watched The Expanse and it was definitely better the second time around.

kinda depends. Something like Arrested Development definitely yes because there's SO much missed on an initial viewing. Something like black mirror I think is definitely more enjoyable on your first trip.

The Expanse is a great example of a show that’s better the second time around - and not just because of nuances.

S1-5 might be the best television ever created. It's absolute perfection

Sopranos - doesn't hold up as well as it did 5+ years ago, but still decent.

Breaking Bad - Still excellent

Mad Men - The Goat

i very rarely watch a series or movie for a second go. i just get bored if i know the plot and what is going to happen. I rather seek new material and experiences.

i know i am in the VAST minority on this.

Well, I completely disagree. That's the beauty of The Sopranos. You watch it primarily because of the characters. I've never watched any show that is so (for me) character driven.

The content is a driver also, but it's the characters and the writing that separates The Sopranos from anything ever put out there.

We just rewatched this in October. The rewatch was awesome because you already know how ridiculous and campy it gets. During the rewatch, it’s basically a dark comedy.
