I've been watching some episodes on Hulu the past couple of days and had forgotten how disturbing it is! Brilliant show though. Can't believe I watched it as a kid and didn't have nightmares.

Any other fans?

I have always disliked it. Would like an explanation on why the word brilliant could be used.

Well maybe brilliant was too strong a word. But the little subtleties and innuendos make it fun to watch as an adult.

And "It's Looog, Looooog ". Hilarious

Grossed me out as a kid, and as a kid I was all about toilet humor

SpongeBob stole the gross closeup thing from Ren and Stimpy.

The most memorable scene is when they were firemen and tried to save a fat woman's animals as they jumped out the burning building. The horse lands straight legged and are slowly crushed.

There was a Ren and Stimpy comic. I believe it was the first issue that had a scratch and sniff sticker. That sticker had the most horrible smell.

Awful, awful show. It's even worse now that I'm an adult than it was when I was 7.

Based on the responses, seems to be a polarizing show

I loved it and still randomly quote a few things from it out of habit.

I watched it in the early 90s when I was a student at UGA. It was one of those shows that was hilarious when you were high as hell on some good weed. Not as funny sober.

A good non pussy chasing night involved good weed, alchohol, Jethro Tull or Steely Dan, Ren & Stimpy, unhealthy food.

I think it paved the way for Adult Swim. Looking back, it wasn't as funny, but it's mind boggling to think it was on Nick. Snick was my jam as a kid. I just remember the Ren & Stimpy outro as the lead in to "Are you Afraid of the Dark?"

Ren and Stimpy was okay for 1-liners, but overall I preferred Pinky and the Brain

Loved that show as a kid. It was hilarious, but i had a warped sense of humor even as a kid. Today's Ren and Stimpy, not so much. They released new episodes starting about 2 or 3 years back. It went from being beautiful animation with crude, exaggerated, sense of humor to just being gross for the sake of being gross. They basically took what some people thought of the original, and then made that opinion as the basis of the whole show.
