a great movie. not sure what's cheesy about it. I love sports movies that are based on true stories.

the music was good too.

When you think about it, why in the hell would a fake 23 blast work in that situation? Why would a tailback through the 3 hole being faked work against the defense when the situation obviously called for a pass. Last play of the game and they had the length of the field to go. That play should have never worked.

Holy hyperbole

ESPN Top 25 Sports Movies has Remember the Titans at Number 10.

Best-Sports-Movies.com has Remember the Titans at Number 9.

Bleacher Report Article puts Remember the Titans at Number 2.

Daily News The 25 Greatest Sports Movies Remember the Titans is Number 20.

I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with all of these, but it isn't hyperbole. Remember the Titans is much beloved by many people out there.

42 comes to mind

Yeah, I felt like that movie was one big cliche. As I watched it, I felt like I could predict the very next scene or line. Harrison Ford was terrible.

42 was basically the film version of the Michael Jordan "First Black Harlem Globetrotter" sketch from SNL.

it's definitely over-sentimental disney mediocrity

Not terrible. There were good parts. Too often the script reverted back to feel-good cliches.

Well, I don't want to be the one to break your heart,
but Sunshine's from California.

It probably was a small town during the time period that movie took place. I remember in 1970 going to the mall at Tyson's Corner that was out in the middle of no where, and my Dad's cousin's camp near Front Royal was out in the boonies.

Oh, and my vote goes to The Blind Side.

A better question would be to find sports movies that aren't cheesy and overly sentimental. It seems like most are.

But yeah, that's a pretty painful scene to watch. It's like someone is trying to pantomime someone sprinting, but failing miserably.

And come to think of it, there is a lot of singing and dancing in it..

We are the titans...mighty might titans...

Na na na na
Na na na na...

Also, was it ever confirmed that Sunshine was not gay?

It is god damn disgracefully awful, but not as bad at "The Blind Side".

A reverse on the last play of the game would not fool a prevent defense.
