Reading the book now. It's been ok so far. He just found The first key and getting a proposal by IOI now.

The climate change bullshite and the sad no life gamer crowd it appeals to with its references is pretty annoying. Hope one of its underlying themes is to get out and do life in the real world.

Try fresher bait. It references 80's pop culture in general. Not just games.

Cool trailer. Love the look.

It bore no resemblance to the book so far. A teaser trailer establishing the game and universe would have been better.

Was one of my fastest reads ever, just couldn't put it down - the 80s child that I was/am.

Hope the movie continues the worship at the altar of Boy George, New Coke, Mtv,and the rest of that iconic, disgusting and wondrous decade.

For instance I thought he lived in Oklahoma... not Ohio.

The stacks was Oklahoma. I think he moved to Ohio. Og's birthday party, the stacks, and his hideout was the only things I recognized from the book.

He does. At least in the beginning to where I've read so far. He may move to Columbus Ohio at some point tho to be close to the hub of everything.

Yeah, wtf was with the race? That trailer is a bit concerning. It seems Spielberg is already taking liberties with the plot.

I wonder how much this movie cost in licensing alone. Unless they're sticking with just properties that WB or Spielberg owns alone, it must have cost an arm and a leg.

I don't give a shite about anything else but Monty Python and the Holy Grail. If it's not in the movie I will go apeshit!

I thought the trailer looked great but I don't think I recognized just about any of it.

Yeah a great deal of time was dedicated to the race through the city. I don't remember that from the book. I remember the nightclub early in the trailer and the large battle.

I'll also be disappointed if the overarching D&D theme is not incorporated. I have never been a D&D guy (nothing against it), however I found that part of the book interesting.
