Clint Eastwood raping the chick in High Plains Drifter was crazy. Of course she was his girl by the end of the movie. That shite could never fly these days.

yep. very surprising when you first see that movie and considering when it was made and who the main actor is.

Been a while since I've seen it, but wasn't that more of a pre-rape scene (the "Singing in the Rain" part)?

The show very little of it so it is mostly a pre rape scene. I still don't see how you can't acknowledge it.

One of the characters in Evil Dead was raped by some trees.

Brokeback Mountain - if that wasn't a rape in that tent, then gay dude sex is way more violent than I ever figured it was.

I was "warned" about this before hand and then saw the movie one day. I didn't see the big deal. Nowhere near Girl with Dragon tatooo levels and not even in the same ball park as Deliverance.

BTW, to the OP, I guess you missed it, but the board has decided Marilyn Monroe isn't that hot.

two voices in my head just had a discussion that went like this:

"man all these scenes are pretty disturbing"

"well, we are talking about rape. so it should be. you should be worried if it's not"

"true, you're totally right."

Kristy Swanson in Higher Learning. It is the catalyst for her to start dating Jennifer Connolly in the movie.

I watched this after it was mentioned in the thread on celeb sex scenes a couple weeks ago. That is one fricked up scene.

The rape of Kyle Maclachlan in Blue Velvet is a pre-rape/post-rape scene. Kind of like the one in A Clockwork Orange. The scene showing him being raped was edited out because test audiences found it to be too disturbing. It was decided that it was better to leave it implied. They did this despite showing a woman being raped earlier in the film. This shows that people (including women) think that a man being raped is more disturbing than a woman being raped. What this says about people and their psychology is very interesting to me. Men are supposed to be strong. They are supposed to be defenders, and seeing a man vulnerable can be too much for people in general to handle.

Irreversible and it's not even close. That movie as a whole is disturbing as shite.

The rape scene in "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" is probably the most disturbing scene I've ever seen in a movie, although I have not seen "Irreversible" so I can't comment on how it compares to that.

But in "Henry..." the 2 sociopaths commit a home invasion and tie up the husband and son and proceed to rape the mother right in front of them. Then they kill them all. And they videotaped it all. It is really difficult to watch.
