He was always shown so prominently on the opening credits, but he has always been a very minor character with little screen time. What's up with that?

I only watch it via Netflix, so they may have a different opening credits scene.

BJ Novak's the writer/producer, right? That probably helped for some face time.

I think he's overrated. They basically just stole the British version.

I thought I read somewhere that Mindy Kaling actually wrote the most episodes of The Office.

Stress relief 1 is my favorite so far.

When Dwight cuts the face off the dummy. . .I just lost it.

The ABCs of CPR

"Airway"
"Breathing"
"Circulation"

Michael "I thought that stood for Always Be Closing"

ETA:

Also loved the episode when they go to that convention and Michael throws that party in his room with techno lights and music. Only one person shows up.

But at the end of the episode, he turns the black light on and all those stains show up on his bed and

Michael goes: "Oh what is that?"
Dwight "that is either blood, urine, or semen"
Michael "God, I hope it's urine"

I feel like the show originally wanted Ryan to be the replacement for the audience.
He was new to the office and pretty bewildered.

But over time, they kinda down played that and just let him become a smug a-hole.

He's one of the exective producers and writers like someone else said.

You know what's funny is he was in a lot of skits on Punk'd, at least in season 1.

So did everybody else. There are a dozen or more versions, from Israel to Colombia.

She wrote several episodes, including many of my favorites. Ben Franklin, Branch Wars, Diwali, Frame Toby, Goldent Ticket, Hot Girl, Night Out, and others. 28 episodes overall. Though on some of those she may have co-written.
