Why did Happy not drop at least 7 strokes the hole after he was hit by the car. He hit it in the rough and took 5 swings at the ball and on the 5th swing he went into the water but the scoreboard only dropped him from -3 to -2 I think.

Some shady scoring.

"I believe that is Mr. Gilmores" hahah

Well considering he could hit the ball so far he could hole in one a par 4 and he had learned how to put, I don't think it's a stretch to say he could have hit an eagle or two on a few par 5s or 4s.

I don't remember, did he make contact or did the ball move at any point on those 5?

If not, then that's 1 stroke

Also, I hate this movie and believe it to be Sandler's worst work of his "glory days."

Obviously you're not a golfer.

If you make an honest attempt at the ball and miss, that is a stroke in the PGA. It's not like he is playing with his buddies on a weekend round or something.

Hale Irwin lost a tournament because he whiffed on a 2 inch put because he picked up his putter too quickly.

Tapped it once and whiffed 3 times, 5th swing hit into the water.

I'm going with it was a par 4 and he hit his tee shot into the rough. Even if he two putts after the water, he is looking at least 8 or 9.

nope, only been playing 15 years.

Honestly didn't know that rule.

Guess I didn't need to though, since I've never missed the ball

Happy Gilmore is Citizen Kane compared to most of his newer films.

So what ended his "glory days"? I saw Little Nicky in the theaters and felt like I never wanted to see another Adam Sandler movie again. Was that where it ended?

I am probably one of the few on earth that laughs at that movie every time it comes on. Not sure why, but I do.

Almost nothing related to golf in that movie is accurate. It's a funny, but frustrating movie.
