Its the most WOKE show I have seen...

But I have enjoyed it.

Episode 12 might be the most woke of them all.

Anybody else seen all 12 episodes?

I have watched them all except the most recent one. It's not a bad show. My kid likes it and we watch together, if not for that I might have bailed.

I like it. Thought the episode with the nuclear reactor (episode 11?) was very good.

Haven’t watched, but what’s woke about it?

I have liked it. I really liked episode 8 "Stand by Ben."

Episode 12...the basketball episode was good. It clearly had an agenda but it made me think. We used to have a next door neighbor that was young and experiencing the same thing (I'm trying not to spoil).

I have enjoyed the reboot...and really thought I was gonna hate it.

It celebrates diversity for sure.

Did you ever watch the original?

The show has always been progressive toward social issues, often presenting them in a matter-of-fact way.

I watched the first 11 episodes and enjoyed them. I read the episode review for the 12th last night and was skeptical, but I decided to go ahead and watch it today.

I could nit pick the story/dialog/directing to death, but in the end it’s just someone using the entertainment medium to express a point of view. I can appreciate that this dealt with the controversial issue from the perspective of an individual - as people tend to become extreme when dealing in generalizations.

While I also know that the story was written with a progressive “slant”, I thought they did at least show with the scene in the principals office that the other girls mother was genuinely concerned about fairness for her child.

My wife and I watched the first couple episodes. They weren’t bad, but not good enough for us to keep watching. Too many other options to watch.

At times it can get a little preachy but so could the original series. I thought the trans episode was handled pretty well BUT (Spoilers) they completely glossed over most parents objections to biologically born males playing girl's sports against biologically born females. They attribute all of the objections to transphobia rather than fairness. In the show, when the trans-girl gets in the game the team does way better. They try to imply it's the teamwork and comaraderie, but maybe it's due to the trans-girl being biologically superior. Also everyone is booing her before she goes in, when she goes in the game they are cheering for her wildly, including the supposedly trans-phobic "Karen" mom!

I saw this thread prior to watching 12 and was like "nah"...but holy shite!

I think the show in general has actually been a good bit less woke than I expected. It's like the most woke thing is there is literally no straight white male on the show. That doesn't really bother me. The core cast of the old show was basically ONLY straight white males, so who cares?

This trans episode was a little too ham-fisted for me, though. Although what is the twist at the end?

I wish they would just get on with the Al's grand-daughter plot.

Also, I've seen every ep of the original multiple times, so I know exactly how QL works. But one complaint/observation of mine is I really think I might be confused if I had never seen the original. It seems like they really gloss over the details of how leaps work and ziggy and all that.

Im confused about what happened to the waiting room. In the original, Sam and the person he leaped into would change bodies. The HQ could interview the individual and get clues to the mission. I know they updated the tech, but why would you get rid of that? At least explain the inconsistency

That's a pretty good point. Although in my memory, isn't the waiting room person swiss cheesed also?

No Scott Bakula no care

Wish they would've just brought him back for a season.

Watched a couple episodes and couldn't get past the clown in makeup as a main character. And it just wasn't that good. Nostalgia probably says Bakula or bust for me

This is an episode?

Wow, the original show had retarded kids, feminism and driving miss daisy, but this one is pretty much full retard.

Quantum Leap reboot has definitely gotten better the last half of the season.

I wonder if it will go past season 1, or get cancelled?
