Incredible cinematography, best looking Hogwarts, great pacing, it’s perfect.

I wish Cauron would have done more Potters, I love the way he depicted the world.

It looks completely different from the other movies .

Looking forward to the HBO series for Potter. All of these movies fall into the category of “did you read the books first” or “did you watch the movies first?”

No doubt, I hope it’s done well.

It should be for sure.

Goblet of Fire is my favorite from a cinematic point of view but I know book readers hated that movie. After I reading the books I understand the frustration but still it was a great movie.

I enjoyed the first few movies because my kids were the right age when they came out. Plus, they were so fresh.

The amazing thing is how well the entire series maintained their quality.

Totally agree. Objectively it’s the best.

The shrunken Rasta head that wouldn't shut up during the Night Bus scene could have been cut but once they get to the Leaky Cauldron it's aces the rest of the way.

Maybe the werewolf could have looked scarier but I understand why they didn't go hard w/that part considering the target audience.

Agree that it has by far the best cinematography in the series. The shot composition, lighting, camera movements, and set design are such a massive step above the other films that it some ways it almost feels out of place at times.

I definitely agree. I liked the fact that Voldy wasn't the big bad.

My biggest gripes with the movie are the Mauraders Map and Time Turner being incredibly game breaking devices that are never really used again.

It has one of the gayest endings of all time when Harry rides off on the broom and it zooms in to a still of his face.

I love all of them for different reasons, Goblet of Fire is my personal favorite and Prisoner of Azkaban is my mom’s favorite. I’ll be going to the Saenger in NOLA in May for a showing of the Prisoner of Azkaban with a live orchestra playing the score and I can’t wait. I saw a similar production for Raiders of the Lost Ark once in Boston and it was incredible.

As a film, Prisoner of Azkaban is far and away better than just about all of the Harry Potter adaptations. But as an adaptation itself? It was the most disappointing for me. Granted, I was wedded to the backstories that started getting fleshed out in that particular novel, and it really pissed me off when they were completely altered or deleted completely from the film version. I understand they had reasons, mostly time, but I was perfectly willing to sit through a 3+ hour movie if done faithfully and well.

The one-two punch of Azkaban and Goblet back-to-back puts this series on par with all the greats.

I always think of these movies in pairs. The first two (Stone & Secrets), the next two - and my favorite (Azkaban & Goblet), the next two (Phoenix and Prince), then the final two (Deathly Hallows).

While the others films were really good, the series didn’t reach the level of Azkaban & Goblet, in my opinion, until the Deathly Hallows 2.

Same here. Originally I liked Azkaban and Goblet the best. Now, I like the first two the best as they more closely follow the books.

It was the only one of those movies made by a real director.

Azkaban is my go to. I’ve only read the books once (but before the movies came out). But the die hard readers prefer Stone and Chamber

The Chris Columbus movies are the best. But those are also the best stories. I like Harry Potter better when they’re at school and going to classes. The overall story gets kind of gay when Voldemort comes back and it becomes so supernatural and crazy.

I did the movies first. My oldest were young then, and we watched them regularly.

We still do, on rare occasion, binge them all when together.

Azkaban was my favorite, as well. But, also, the most disappointing after reading the book given how much was left out of "The Marauders" backstory, among other things.
