TMZ broke the story on their website. Now it looks like other news outlets are picking up on it. Sad if true. I used to dance to his Batman soundtrack.

Publicist confirmed he has passed away in his home in Minnesota

Battling a potentially fatal disease long term can do things to the mind. But yeah, one would hope that he had more resolve and sense than that.
