I think I missed this announcement.

quote:

Jane Austen's classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England is faced with a new challenge -- an army of undead zombies.

Director: Burr Steers
Writers: Burr Steers (screenplay), Jane Austen (Quirk Books novel), 1 more credit »
Stars: Lily James, Lena Headey, Douglas Booth
LINK

Apparently, there is a book on which this is based. Anyone read it? It seems like it's trying to capitalize on the success of vampire Abe Lincoln, but I don't know the book timeline.

Could be fun.

I actually saw this book at Target the other day and was really confused when I saw Jane Austen listed as an author.

After all, she is the first game theorist so maybe she wrote an alternate-reality zombie-apocalypse well ahead of its time. I was disappointed to find out she, in fact, did NOT write anything about zombies. Could be interesting though.

Someone went through the entire original book, and added in random sentences and phrases throughout the entire book to make it set in a zombified England. But all in all, it was the same book. Hence Jane Austin getting the credit. But now it looks like the movie will be expanding on the zombie element to tell a different story.

It's written by the same author that did vampire hunter. It's entertaining but the novelty of it did wear out towards the end.

Read it. As others have said, it's Austen's book with zombies thrown in.

After a while, the novelty wore off. I believe he's got another one called Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.

As mentioned, it's written by the same author that wrote "Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Slayer", so it's in that same vein.

I read it a few years ago so my memory is fuzzy but I remember enjoying it. The characterizations of the sisters and their father was my favorite part.

I can't even imagine how that would work.

But, if people are still buying the books, rock on, dude.
