Pierce Brosnan: Next James Bond Will ‘Be White’

Following speculation that Daniel Craig will hang up the tuxedo and put away his gadgets after the upcoming “Spectre,” everyone is chiming in about who should and should not be the next James Bond — including a former Bond, Pierce Brosnan.
Brosnan, who starred in four 007 films between 1995 and 2002, recently predicted who will step into the shoes of the iconic British spy.
“Anything is possible for sure, but I think he’ll be male and he’ll be white,” Brosnan told the Press Association.
“There’s wonderful black actors out there who could be James Bond, and there’s no reason why you cannot have a black James Bond,” the 62-year-old Irish actor added.
Idris Elba is one of those actors. The fan and studio favorite was dubbed “too street” for the role by 007 author Anthony Horowitz, sparking a social media outcry and subsequent public apology.
“Idris Elba is a terrific actor, but I can think of other black actors who would do it better,” he told the Daily Mail in late August. “For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s not a color issue. I think he is probably a bit too ‘street’ for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah.”

Daniel Craig is the best Bond. I hope he does one more after Spectre and then goes out before he is too old.

Bond should always be white. Because that was how Ian Fleming drew him.

craig is the worst bond ever. I think idris would do a great job and maybe give the series a shot in the arm to go back to what was working in the past. I dont care about the books, but bond in film was nothing like craigs re-branded bourne character.

If you just have to have a black Bond, I think he would be alright. Like Brosnan said, I don't think he has the suaveness required. I love the guy and he's a great talent, but I don't think he's Bond.

Brosnan could have that title if not for mediocre scripts. When I think Bond, I think of someone damn similar to Brosnan.
That being said, Craig is great. I liked Casino Royale, QoS was alright but he was good, and Skyfall? Son, he was great. I was skeptical at first but he really won me over.

He doesn't, and that's why I was skeptical. He plays the role amazingly well though. For his 3 films he has been outstanding.
