I can totally see her exchanging bitchy one-liners with the robot. It will be interesting to see if they will ramp up the comedic aspects of the story or if it will be played mostly straight.

Very real. We have them directly across the street from each other at a Houston strip center.

Lewis Black did a pretty good bit about it: YouTube

I remember like yesterday when the original first aired. It was the biggest thing on TV. The Robot (he was a B9) was the same robot used in a movie Forbidden Planet that most of us had already seen.

Angela Cartwright played Penny ... she had been made famous in Sound of Music and The Danny Thomas Show. She also had a sister in real life, Veronica Cartwright, who was made famous in another space movie ... Alien. (Witches of Eastwick as well.)

As long as the Robot speaks in that authoritative, declarative voice and Dr. Smith is slime that occasionally make me laugh, I'm good.

"DANGER WILL ROBINSON" made the trailer for me.

Some of the cliffhangers in the first season scared my little arse to death.

As for Forbidden Planet, I think you're thinking of Robby the Robot who appeared in that film, made an appearance in a later season of Lost in Space, and popped up all over TV in the 60's. Both robots were created by Robert Kinoshita, but he created the B-9-M-3 Lost in Space robot for the series.

Love the Busy Bee Scene

Parker Posey is one of those actors that I feel like has been around forever quietly in the background.
