The first one could've been GREAT with just a smidgen less cheese. Specifically the two weirdo scientists and esp Ron Perlman's character. The action was top notch.

Pacific Rim was the Gundam movie I'd wanted since I was a kid. It delivered in just about every way possible. The ONLY thing that would make it any more epic would be a tournament setting pitting the giant robots against each other.
