Sasha, Rosita, and Tara are all terrible. Sasha and Rosita for their constant sulking and bitterness. Maybe not so much Sasha this season, but she went through a similar period of time where she would walk around with resting bitch face and think that her and a gun is all that is needed to run shite. Same with Rosita now. Tara is just a terrible actress, not attractive, and a dumbass.

WTF is with the landfill posse talking in half sentences like they're 2 years old? My god it's awful.

How did all those people inside that compound die? They're still armed so it wasn't other humans you would think. They weren't eaten so it wasn't walker herds.

And then the writers revert back to manufactured suspense when there shouldn't be any. Smart play - go get more people and another vehicle and collect everything. They skip that. Then Rick says they can't use guns because it will draw more walkers towards them. Then he almost dies because he climbs a ferris wheel to shoot a deer when he only had like 7 walkers left to kill.

Boring episode last night. Don't get me wrong, I plan on sticking with this show till the end, but it is definitely wearing thin on my patience.

That cgi deer was laughably bad.

The total disregard for ammo on this show is infuriating. Even if they made a one-off, throwaway line about a cache of ammo that they have, it would at least make some sense. But we had an entire sub storyline about how important it was for Eugene to make ONE bullet. And here we have Michonne shooting bottles for fun at the carnival.

And they're walking on the roof. I said out loud, I hope they don't fall through the roof, because they've already gone to that before. And sure enough, they fall. And then fall onto a giant mat of some sort. Okay.

They bring 63 fricking guns to the garbage retards, and not one person mentions ammo. Do we just assume they have tons of ammo for all those weapons? Also, what was the cat thing about? I must not be remembering something.

I will say that when Rick and Michonne were in the car I was like "they can just get out and jump over that fence and kill the walkers. And that's what they did. And then splitting up and barricading themselves in the ride fences too. I was happy to see them do the obvious thing and make logical decisions for a change.

I did think it was weird that Rick wanted to be gone for so long though. He knows Negan and crew come regularly (and sometimes more often than that), but he didn't seem to care that he and Michonne were gone for a week or more. Like he didn't seem to care at all about his friends/family and kids back at home and just wanted to get out and bang and whatnot. Just seemed weird.

Good to see Tara finally about to unass the info about the giant cache of guns finally. And I would be super pissed about why she hadn't said anything up to this point. Especially with the whole "we need lots of guns and stuff" conversations coming up every ten minutes. And if her reasons are "I told them I wouldn't tell anybody," I'd be like oh really? Cuz I thought you were loyal to us, you goddamned liar.

Rick's faux death was silly, but for a split second I was like "this would be awesome and would bring some seriousness back to the show." But alas, it was just a gimmick. And way to just give up, Michonne. Good job.

And now we have Rosita and Sasha going to do nothing but cause problems for everyone and make things ten times worse. I hope they both get caught and die horrible deaths. And I hope they can somehow manage to get Tara into that fold as well. And Carl.

I like the show, but I feel like the creators are just like "okay, all we have to do is have a solid opening episode, and a solid closing one with a cliffhanger, and everything else in between can just be garbage." That's honestly what it's starting to feel like. And it's getting old.

I really fear the show will drag on for years. I am too far in at this point to give up but man it can be a chore at times.

Yeah I saw the discussion earlier about them having an endpoint and how much better that could make things. And I agree with that. But all they see is a giant cash cow and know that they can drag this shite out for years and people will still watch. So what sucks is that from a monetary standpoint (which is all they view it from I imagine) it makes more sense to just drag it out as long as possible.

shite... the secret is out!

At this point you really could DVR each episode, watch the "previously on AMC's The Walking Dead" part, the opening 2 minutes or so, ffwd to the last 2 minutes, and repeat. The middle has become one big steaming pile of feelings and emotions. And the zombies just fall apart now... they aren't really even a threat anymore.

This doesn't bother me so much, as it is the natural progression of things. If there's never a "cure" it just becomes part of the death ritual to stab someone in the head. You'll have random instances where someone dies alone or unexpectedly and they become a threat, but overall the zombies less important. The new threat is what we've seen from the Governor and Negan. Much like humanity was before "civilization," it's just a bunch of separate tribes that are fighting for resources and safety.

I enjoy Negan and his antics but I'd like for the Alexandria crew to just pack up their stuff and head out west for a change of scenery. Get back to surviving on the road and drum up some new and interesting storylines along the way.

I think skipping the first half of this season did me good. Because I'm not feeling the weariness that everyone else in this thread seems to be.

I didn't mind this episode. A little zombie stabbing goodnesss. A little Rick and Michonne in love goffiness. Picking up guns from the yard like they were blackberries.

One thing I was wondering is if they were gonna use the MRE's for "tribute" next time Negan's goons come around (assuming the crew is not ready for war yet). On the one hand, that would lead the goons to question where they found the MRE's and what other military supplies there were. On the other hand, if they don't have enough tribute, somebody is probably gonna die in a non pretty way.

Of course, Rosita and Sasha are probably gonna screw things up before we get to that point so it's likely a moot point.

Is the guy that plays heath the new 24 legacy guy? Is that why they aren't mentioning him, hoping everyone forgot about him bc he's not coming back?

I've been a loyal watcher since the first episode and, lately, I've found myself defending it more and more from criticism. I can't really defend last night's episode though. If I were to have completely missed the episode, all I wouldn't know is that Rick and Michonne found a few guns. It's like Lucas' prequels trilogy. Lucas could have covered all 3 episodes in one movie had he cut out the senseless filler. TWD's writers can do the same. They need to binge watch Breaking Bad and take notes before they resume filming. Fully 75% of most of the episodes do nothing to advance the plot or even character development.

How does this junkyard cult survive?

They don't seem to have crops, or guns, or a stockpile of resources, or any sort of competent leadership.

How has such a large group survived, and stayed hidden, for so long?

The show is frustrating now. The walkers are so simple to kill. Get on a higher level and just pop them in the head. It shouldn't be an issue anymore. Also how long has it been since this started? 3 or 4 years? There is no way any of those guns would work. They have been outside in the elements laying around. You can't pick a rifle off the ground that's been laying out exposed for 3 years and use it. Need a little more then some oil..

The garbage people don't make sense to me. Why do they talk in such disjointed language? You're telling me that this group has devolved so much in the 2 or so years since the apocalypse that their communication lacks any resemblance to how normal people talk? I can understand if it was someone like Morgan who had lost his family and was esentially by himself the whole time, but this is an entire community of people living together in what looks like a very structured and well-fortified compound.

I think it's sort of like The Kingdom in that after the apocalypse, groups just got weird for the sake of it, as kind of an identity thing. Groupthink, even.

The worst thing about this show is that when I watch Talking Dead (my wife likes to watch it with me to make fun of shite) the writers, producers and directors are very smug and act like they have invented the wheel. I have to say that I do not know a single person who watches this show that isn't disgusted with it and only watches because they are so invested in it. When is it too much I wonder to just shut it down and quit watching? I am trying to think when this show jumped the shark with it's pathetic writing, it's been so long since I thought this show was worth a shite I have actually forgot when it was truly good.

I think the first episode of the season was one of the best episodes of television I've ever watched. The suspense was almost unbearable and it was so gut wrenching.
