it was only "boring" bc there was some much needed character development

I am one of the biggest proponents for character development on here, but this episode was slow and boring.

They could have easily done the entire episode in about 30 minutes with cutaways of each character, have Rick's speech in the shack, and then the scene with the tornado.

Then the second half of the episode could have been the introduction of the new guy who has been following them and knows the name of Rick.

Then the episode could have ended with them interrogating him and deciding whether to trust what he has to say or kill him.

dude did you see how freaking tired they were.

zombies never get tired, humans do.

This episode clearly showed how broken and weak the group is. From conserving energy by throwing the walkers off the bridge to Maggie fumbling to open the trunk of the car.

Sure, but the way they handled walkers at the bridge shows what I'm talking about...they VERY easily stepped aside or pushed the walkers off the cliff. Walkers don't "push" anything; they simply walk into shite. So it's not like the walkers were pushing back against the group at the barn with any sort of force.

And to whomever mentioned the tornado, that seems to have come later on (and what helped clear the walkers of the barn).

And again, that wasn't a huge deal on my end, and was really my only gripe of the episode. All in all I enjoyed it well enough, and it was finally nice to see them actually need food and water, since that would happen often IMO and we really haven't seen them wanting for that in a long time (maybe since the Carl/Michonne/pudding episode?).

I didn't mind the episode. Sure it'll be forgettable in the long run, but the last two episodes have shown a new side to the group. They're adapting to being on the road and struggling to find food and water. Something new.

Completely agree.

I'd also like this new dude and his group (assuming he has a group) to be legit good people. We've seen how bad humanity can be, but humans are still good too, so it'd be a nice change of pace to see the group come across some good people that can help out or shed different lights on things.

it's a typical filler episode from the show.

We've had two main characters die in the past two episodes, they needed to get some time with Daryl, Maggie, and Shasha.

And I would agree with that because of the theme of the second half of the episode which was of them finally catching breaks:

1. The water being there for them to take, but instead it rained.
2. The zombies trying to break in and Mother Nature laying the smack down.
3. The beautiful weather and sun rise the next day.
4. And kind of a reach, but the jewelry box being fixed, not working; and then when the new person arrived, started working again.

Major symbolism that things maybe, for the time being, turn around a bit for our unlucky survivors.

Maggie got more than my attention, as her legs were swinging faster & faster at one point. Or so it looked like to me, anyway. Here's hoping it is with Maggie, then, but read in some mag that there is another voyeur type sex scene coming up down the road. Forgetting who watched whom a few seasons ago.

Not one into keeping track of the time line, but was not this episode not too long after Beth died?

Someone (I think Rick) said that it was two weeks after Atlanta.

Ditto. Would like to see another few episodes of a somewhat functioning mini-society (like the hospital folk) before moving on. Maybe have the group make a tough choice between staying in a relatively safe place vs. taking their chances in finding a legit society in DC. That or have them settle, then let this "W" group come in, frick shite up, and force the group to move on + some new members and - some shitty characters (Sasha, the Priest, maybe Glenn and Maggie if they don't improve).

I love making and reading these threads...

You get some very interesting and valid opinions, but you can really tell about the diversity of posters.

most websites/reviewers have giving this episode a 7/10.

I really wish we could set up polls for viewing threads

You have to remember that there are a lot of miserable people on here who live to shite on things whether they watch them or not. This tends to run in cycles, and has been on the upswing lately.

My thoughts on the last 2 episodes. Yeah yeah I get the whole character development blah blah blah. But 2 full episodes of philosophy, introspection and woeful monologues? Enough. It's a zombie/apocalyptic survival show for the love a....dance with who brung ya!

I'm assuming those that are complaining about the tornado not doing any damage to the shed have probably never been through one. It's actually fairly common in small scale tornadoes, which this one was, for it to totally wipe out a structure and one just a few feet away would be completely unharmed.

The zombies were pushing on the door of the barn where just inches away the crew was pushing back, I know tornado's have skipped or jumped but that was absurd.

Was just coming in to post this. The tornado path was not that uncommon to how tornadoes act IRL.

I like this episode and thought it was very well acted. There was a lot of non-verbal communication going on this episode. The characters would just look at each other and with a shake of the head you could tell how desperate they were. It really conveyed to the viewer that they were at a breaking point, but in the end chose to survive and hold back the zombies.

Now, maybe a chance for civilizaion is introduced with this new character. Is it real or is it a charade like Terminus? Will the groups untrusting nature ruin a chance for salvation, will they turn into the bad guys now? I think this is interesting.
