I thought we were more than 4 episodes into the season, not that I'm complaining about having 6 left.

As I stated in the last episode thread, Mike may switch the tapes....to make Chuck look like a nutcase.

Would be great if they play new tape at the hearing and starts playing the theme of "Laverne & Shirley"

As fun as that would be, I think it goes down the story line of Kim recording Chuck admitting that it was all a setup.

I think both are wrong. Kim didn't need to record Chuck, the duplicate tape existing and getting destroyed alone proves the motive of the setup.

Address book having the safety deposit box address AND combo is also far fetched. If anything it's Chuck's ex-wife

I think they will try to paint Chuck both as a nut and out to destroy Jimmy. The pictures and the ex-wife are to show that he is crazy and potentially endangering himself. I think Jimmy will argue that he only admitted to changing the addresses because he was worried about Chuck, and that he broke in and destroyed the tape in a rage because he thought Chuck's paranoia and delusions were going to wreck Jimmy's career.

Honestly I don't really care how it goes down as long as before this show ends its run there is a Chuck funeral scene.

And that is where the extra $3 Jimmy paid (for the tape replacement) will likely come into play. Even if Chuck saying it was a duplicate wasn't recorded by Kim, he is on record in the litigation meeting of wanting to be reimbursed the cost of the destroyed tape. Maybe it comes back that Chuck was too smart for his own good and they use his own testimony against him.

I think Jimmy uses the defense that he just said that to make Chuck feel better. He flipped his lid when he found out Chuck is trying to ruin him. Now he has no choice but to prove that Chuck is in fact crazy. He will use the photos and testimony from Chuck's ex wife to seal the deal. I could also see him planting an electrical device under Chuck's chair without his knowledge. When Chuck shows no reaction he will reveal it and prove that it's all in Chuck's head.

I will also be watching for more clues that J+K=S.

Rewatched last episode
Saul was waiting in the conference room and Howard walked in and turned off the light. Like Saul is so fricking done with Chuck he literally won't even lift a finger for him anymore.

It was so awesome watching Saul flip the apology to smash Chuck. "I mean who would do that to his own brother?" Damn, that was brilliant.

And Chuck with his snide remark trying to belittle Kim and make her feel inexperience

quote:

But Kim, you should be aware, because this will be your first disciplinary hearing, the bar association standard of proof is far more lenient that what you're used to. Motions aside, that tape will be played.

That pissed her off so bad!

There's some traction to this. On the tape it goes like this:

"There, I changed all the 12's to 21's, there I said it, does that make you feel better now Chuck?" So it could definitely be argued.

Does the duplicate really prove anything? I mean Chuck didn't force Jimmy to break into his house and destroy the tape. He can make a duplicate of a tape if he wants to.

IMO it does, there has to be some intent to make a duplicate and put THAT in the tape player to be destroyed. It shows Chuck went out of his way to make a dupe tape and put it in the original recorder and stash the actual tape. The original tape being intact in a safety deposit box screams entrapment. This especially if the "burden of proof is far more lenient. " In fact, the burden of proof remark he made almost HAS to come back to bite Chuck in the arse. Also he did all this while claiming to have a huge sensitivity to electronics and radiowaves. That's a pretty big motive.

Yes it does. It shows Chuck's intent to trap him and can further the narrative that Chuck is crazy.

It also could clear Jimmy of destroying evidence if they try to argue that point.

Yea but right after that Chuck asks a Jimmy if he's admitting to the commission of a felony, which he affirms.

Interesting that nobody has commented on the pic of Jimmy sitting at the vet's office. I am curious about why he is there. I don't believe he has met the vet up to this point.

I suspect it is. I am just curious of how and why. I am guessing Mike makes the introduction, but why? Is the vet in legal trouble or does he need "legal counseling" for something he is planning?
