Ocean's Eight. Anyone tired of these all-female spinoffs / remakes?

Ocean's Eight is a spinoff of Ocean's Eleven and it will be an all female cast:

Rihanna
Anne Hathaway
Sandra Bullock
Cate Blanchett
Helena Bonhan Carter
Mindy Kaling
Sarah Paulson
Awkwafina

It's set to come out next summer.

I don't have a problem with female leads, but what I really dislike is when they do it for obvious political / feminist reasons.

The Ghostbusters remake is an obvious example.

Or this new movie coming out called Atomic Blonde with Charlize Theron. Look at the twitter account for the movie and how they are advertising it:

These feminist reboots / remakes are very easy to dislike.

This movie actually has a lot of potential to be pretty good. That cast is legit.

16 tits, 8 vaginas and 7 laughs?

I'll likely catch it at some point.

No.

I don't get tired of movies that I don't care to see.

They are pretty easy to ignore.

I would whoop Charlize's arse if she tried to start shite, but I'd rather impregnate her.

Whoopie, they'll tarnish the oh so beloved Ocean's franchise.

People cared about Ghostbusters because they legitimately wanted to see a new Ghostbusters film for the first time in almost 30 years and didn't want it to suck.

Ocean's will be a remake of a remake of a film which made money but doesn't have a particular following behind it.

This will probably end up doing the same kind of business as the all black Honeymooner's remake which flopped and was never heard from again.

Don't watch it.

Recreational outrage. It almost seems that people go out of their way to get upset over petty shite like this.

Ghostbusters was amazing.

I still can't believe it was so bad they actually put it out. Shows that America is getting stupider.

It's really not about the movie itself. It's about the feminist hype around these movies that makes it about more than just some movie.

I thought that was clear in the OP. It's not about female leads. I have zero problem with that.

It's about making movies like this and then beating you over the head with the fact females are the lead characters. It's like okay we get it.

Reminds me of a joke by my favorite stand up comedian John Mulaney:

"I think women can be friends with each other, but I think it can be tricky sometimes when you try and force women to hang out with each other. You could never put together, like, a heist of women. Like, Oceans 11 with women wouldn't work. Because two would keep breaking off to talk shite about the other nine."
