SIAP. Still in the early discussions stage, but it looks like if Stephen Daldry signs on, it could get greenlit pretty quickly. The guy has made some pretty dramatic films (The Hours, Billy Elliot, The Crown). I would hope that we could see older Obi-Wan in action with McGregor reprising his role as the Jedi Master.

In action doing what? Living in a cave on Tatooine? I just dont know what this movie would be about, we see him go from padawan to living on Tatooine in the prequels to being an old man still watching over Luke and dying. Where is the movie that isnt already covered in there? Unless they are gonna have him leave tatooine and go on adventures...meh

Ewan McGregor has been looking to do 2 Obi wan movies for years.

I have faith this will end up being pretty good.

They have a few books that would probably be the base for the story.

This has potential.

I swear I hope we see a day where we can just act like the prequels never were made and remake them.

Mcgregor really deserves this. He has been vocal in the past at how disappointing and difficult it was to act in the prequels due to nearly everything being shot in front of a green screen.

He was one of the few positive elements in the prequels.

ETA: scrap the Han Solo and rumored Boba Fett spin-off. I have no desire to see those. Then start fresh with something new.

meh

Not sure why Disney can't wake up and realize that there is a massive universe to do the spinoffs in that don't need to be connected to every character from the original trilogy.

A Knights of the Old Republic movie would be all kinds of bad arse and it would completely free them to do all kinds of interesting stories w/o having to worry about screwing up iconic characters.

Agreed. Seriously, why not do something in the past not linked to any character? Or how about a smaller story that doesn't involve any major character? They need to stop with the spin-offs involving old characters and do something new.

Yes. I'm not even excited about a Han Solo movie.

Creatively, Star Wars has been dead since 1983.
