Freaking this!!!

But I'm still excited for my kids. They are going to freak out. Both my boy and girl really like TMNT, and I remember how excited I was when the movie came out while I was a kid.

Was it crap? Sure. But kid me didn't know any better.

Not sure what to think, but I plan on seeing it in theaters at this point.

So far, I'm just hoping it isn't overly CGI'd (though I expect it to be based on that limited trailer). I'm cool with Fox playing AO though..that doesn't bother me at all. And I love Fichtner.

So while nsotalgia will always keep the original 2 (yes, two) high in my mind (heart? ), I'm optimistic about this one.

FWIW, I thought the animated one from 5 or 6 years ago was pretty solid.

I think I have that on tape somewhere at my house.

I've come so close to pulling the trigger on the DVDs of the original series many times, but haven't yet. You can get them for hella cheap on Amazon (like a few bucks a season).

ETA: Just sang along with the intro on the cartoon without missing a beat.

I definitly appreciate the nostalgia!!

I even watched a few minutes on youtube last night, specifically thier first fight with Shredder. The fight coreography (sp?) is a bit...dated.

Well, it's 25 years old.

Also, to those talking about the video games...I never played whichever one ya'll were talking about on SNES, but I have a hard time believing it was better than TMNT2: Arcade on NES. That game was BAD frickING arse.

TMNT 3 is better than 2 on the NES, or at least has better controls

Both are a hell of a lot better than the first one, it's basically unplayable the controls are so bad

Yeah that part I wasn't too crazy about. I don't mind them being a little superhuman, but the landing on the brick wall from hundreds of feet up and the road-sliding scenes weren't impressive to me. Hopefully some of that is toned down a little. With Bay, I doubt it though (but I do like Bay's movies unlike most who pretend not to).

I do enjoy the first one, but it was pretty bad. Angry Video Game Nerd has a pretty funny review of that one.
