Just saw the movie with my 14 and 15 year old daughters. I give it 4 stars out of 5.

Thoughts?

27% with critics. Are you easy going by nature?

Yes I am. I too went because my 15 year old read the book. I was surprised how powerful the movie was.

I don't how they can make this movie in 90 percent color. (Basing this off the previews)

That's like the whole plot point of the book is that there is no color

I would think many people won't like it simply based on the fact it has a sobering message/warning. (For those who have ears)

Artistically it could have been better but I didn't care because I was taken in by the story.

I don't see how this could give the book justice.

The general knock from what I read is that the subject matter seems tired after multiple hunger games divergent etc.

However The Giver is what made those commercially viable in the first place. The book and the movie are superior to the clones

Agree.. The Hunger Games was too over the top to be seriously believed. This movie seemed much more plausible.

Previews make it look like it in no way resemble the book

When I read the book in like 7th grade I thought it was awesome.

Is the weird bathing sex dream in the movie? Talk about awkward having to tell your parents stuff like that
