the whole reason Jabba would toss people in there was b/c the pit took decades to digest you. You'd be stuck down there and feel yourself rot for years. So theoretically it could be possible to escape if you had a thermal detonator.

I'm sure some of the books on him are pretty good. Also not shocked that they say he lived through that, Darth Maul lived through being cut in half...

I have an old stars wars comic where is shows the pit spit him out and back into the sand because he couldn't be digested (guess he was giving it heartburn).

Wasted, but at least Maul did more cool things in his 5 minute fight then just about any villain in the series.
