my whole group came out of the theater with a "disbelief, appalled, sad for her" reaction when we brought her up. I actually got freaked out during that scene that she would get dropped by the pterodactyl and we'd hear/see her drop to the concrete. The dino death was "less gruesome" and forgiving in retrospect.

Not really even close. His death lasted 3 seconds and he he knew his death was coming. Pain wouldn't have been great either. He his leg got bit sure but then his head and shoulders get bit and he's dead. He's already dead by the time he's ripped in half.
Zara had no fricking clue what's happening. She's being attacked from multiple directions for 30 seconds. She has no clue what's happening and she's constantly being surprised. thats much worse.

No way to know that.
I've never seen so much rabbling over such a minor character. I feel worse for the fat guy at the beginning.

Why. He's fat which i don't like. . He's a messy and bad worker. He failed to notice the scratch marks which are feet away from his control room. I don even remember how he died other than he came across as pathetic.

And your precious Kara couldn't keep track of two kids. That's a much easier task than keeping track of some super dino with capabilities that they didn't even know about.
But she was kinda cute so you and half of reddit are knighting hard for her. That's adorable.

huh? Her attractiveness has nothing to do with it. It's the bizarre sense the movie is telling us she got what she deserved which feels out of place. I think I'd notice a 20 foot dinosaur making claw marks right next to my window. I can straight up guarantee you that it's easy to lose 2 people under your charge if they want to escape, especially for a corporate worker. I've seen it happen very.

That's not true. I was simply stating my background for disliking one character which included his sloppiness. He came across as being very undisciplined. He's supposed to be freaking security.

Well, one dude is a security guard. Even a 2.5 has specific training. The girl hasn't ever been in that situation. That's a big difference. Also, they were in entirely different circumstances. As I said, if you want to escape from one person in a crowded situation, it's not hard at all. I've seen it plenty of times in situations much less crowded than in this movie. I know what I'm talking about.

More thoughts after letting it simmer for a few hours:
I thought the mix of humor in the midst of chaos was just right. I LOVED the Easter eggs thrown in homage of the 1st movie.
The Indominus Rex was AWESOME. Much better as a "villain" dino than the Spinosaurus from the 3rd film.
And the Raptors...

I went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised . From the trailer I thought the I Rex was communicating with the Pterodactyls but I guess they tricked us.... Solid film
