Every time I see a movie about Marines I always see how long it takes before Hollywood gets something wrong. Some or all of the following things will happen at some point in the movie, that will not happen in real life:
1. Calling a rifle/weapon a "gun". Won't happen.
2. Calling a Corpsman a "medic". Won't happen.
3. Referring to a Sergeant as "Sarge". Won't happen.
4. When receiving an order and not replying "AyeAye". Probably won't happen. At least not in my time.
5. And of course the mother of them all. Referring to the Marines as "soldiers". Absolutely, positively will not happen. This one really sends me over the edge.
I had to get this off of my chest.
I'm sure there are more. Fellow Marines can add to what I've missed.

I was hoping for some specific examples of movies where you've seen these errors.

I can with out a doubt confirm with 100% certainty that ANY movie about any specific group will seem normal to all of us, and be full of inaccuracies to the group the movie is about.

The Marine series with John Cena and the Miz are probably the most realistic portrayals, IMO.

You forgot about unlocked foot lockers.
That kind of shite drives me crazy. If it wasn't for assholes like that there'd be no steeling in the world.

Was about to say I'm sure Drs, lawyers, police officers, and especially crime scene analysis folks would have the same complaint.

My wife loves this. CSI has made people think it takes like 20 minutes to do her job when in reality it takes weeks or months.

The marine thing is what it is, take the good with the bad and dont go into a john cena movies thinking its going to be accurate.

Scrubs isn't far off other than the wacky comedy element. That's the only medical show I can think of that's even close.

But all of the op complaints pale in comparison to "corpse-men"
