good director is very subjective

bombing is also subjective. Some movies bomb at the box office but do well in dvd sells, on tv, etc. Some movies bomb at box office but turn out to be great movies and build popularity over time.

Don't know many details, but that Lone Ranger movie looked pretty terrible.

While Kingdom of Heaven didn't bomb, it was certainly underwhelming in the box office.

The Counselor

It didn't technically bomb financially and wasn't a big budget but I expected so much more.

I was working in Wyoming at the time, and I had some of my coworkers drag me to this movie. I fell asleep a little over an hour in. That is the only time I have ever fallen asleep at the movie theater. It has to be one of the worst movies I've ever (half) seen. The worst part is that it was an hour to Jackson to drive and see the movie, so it was a waste of about 5 hours when it was all said and done.

It was not as bad as people make it out to he.

Bringing Out The Dead directed by Martin Scorsese with Nicolas Cage, Patricia Arquette, John Goodman, Ving Rhames and Tom Sizemore

The cast wasn't great in this movie, but yeah I still agree. Good director with a huge budget, but wasn't near as good as people thought it would be.

Then you don't watch many movies. It wasn't great. It was long. And I don't think there was a big outcry for a Lone Ranger movie which is what really killed it. Even a superb movie probably wouldn't bombed considering the budget and low excitement. But still, I've seen scores of movies that are worse and I'd think all of us here have too.

All of the 90s Batman movies had big name actors and big budgets and were all terrible.

I don't agree, however, it could catch a case of the John Carters. I think it looks awesome, but I'm not sure audiences are clamoring for it.

Poor Burroughs.

Yes this exactly. Some concepts just aren't in high demand so the quality of the movie probably wouldn't even matter much. Pan is another movie that I don't think was in high demand.

Its 2016. No one cares about Tarzan anymore. Alexander Skarsgard isn't a proven box office draw either.
