I have not seen any of the movies that have won the oscar for best picture since 2012. i guess they're supposed to be 'good', but i've never felt compelled to watch any.

That was my concern. Felt it might be overhyped by my friends. They watched it when we were college aged but I didn’t. I’m 41 now and less forgiving of movies.

I remember going to the movies with my grandmother to watch this one.
Only movie I recall her taking us to.
I still laugh about my older brother crying and crawling in her lap everytime ET was on screen (he was 5 or 6; I was 4 or 5)
I highlight that moment in time as his course to the Navy vs. The Army or Marines like the rest of the families servicemen and women.

Spoiler Alert--to all of you who have not seen Schindler's List you are right.
I rate the 60s as the best decade for movies but I still haven't seen The Graduate or Cool Hand Luke.

Do I need an excuse not to see any of the fast & furious movies? Because I haven't and probably won't.
Also I've not watched anything in black and white except for Citizen Kane. So I definitely need to catch up on all the classics.
