The Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz used to scare the bejesus out of me when I was a tiny child.
Also Nightmare on Elm Street. I was not allowed to watch it after dark because of the nightmares it would cause me, or lack of sleep because I couldn't fall alseep, damn it Freddie!

It
Critters
Silver Bullet
Basically any scary movie I ever saw as a kid...I absolutely HATED those when I was younger and they scared me to death. But nowadays, I love them and some of the ones I was scared of as a kid make me laugh now.
It is almost laughably bad these days..it doesn't hold up well at all. Critters was one that used to freak me out, but me and my buddy used to rent it all the time to scare ourselves. Silver Bullet is one that actually holds up pretty decently now, but I still laugh at how badly that movie fricked me up as a kid...I still can't see low-lying fog/mist without thinking about the scene in that movie.
Also, I thought there was a scene from Critters where one of them was in a toilet or something like that..but googling it, it looks like it might've been a Ghoulies movie. But whichever one it was always freaked me out when I used the bathroom.

Wizard of Oz
I've seen this one mentioned twice. First of all Margaret Hamilton is terrifying as the wicked witch even as an adult she creeps me out
Second, how is the wizard of oz "laughable"?

We had these old movies taped from TV called
The Horror Express with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing where the "missing link" in evolution unfreezes on a train and kills people. It was like a cheesy version of the Thing.
And The Car...about a killer car.

The scene in Jurassic Park when the guy gets eaten by the T-Rex on the toilet.
The scene from the old Batman movie with the Jack Nicholson Joker where he falls off of the building, hits the ground, and is still smiling and laughing.

this movie would scare the shite out of me when I was a kid. Attributes to my hatred of clowns as an adult.

I interpreted "laughable" as in I find it extremely laughable that I was scared by that as a child after seeing it as an adult. the movie obviously isn't a comedy...

Also, I'm not sure exactly what it was, but some of the parts from the "Amazing Stories" movies messed with my head a little bit.
Same thing with a few of the new Twilight Zone episodes in the 80s.
Also, I remember being terrified of the creepy old couple from Cloak and Dagger...when the three-fingered lady reveals herself and then chloroform's Davy. Creeped me the frick out. Here is the scene: LINK

Puppet Master and Child's Play.
fricking Child's Play. Damn movie came out right after my mom spent a ton of money to buy me a My Buddy (single mom and poor so it was a big deal). My sister rented Child's Play and I REFUSED to have anything to do with the My Buddy and my mom was pissed so she made me sleep with that fricker in my room. Damn! Still messes with my head.

Good call...that clown doll.
Also, Jaws terrified me as a kid. But that one obviously holds up, so I wouldn't call it "laughable" now.

CHUD. i still think it's weird that my 6 yr old daughter is scared of anything with yellow eyes
the red bull from The Last Unicorn
Mola Ram, the dude pulling peasants' hearts out of their chests while they are still alive from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
