I've been wanting to watch No Escape (2015) recently since I hadn't seen it in a while, and I watched it this weekend.
If you haven't seen it, it's an Owen Wilson movie where he is an engineer working in some Asian country and there is a coup and Americans are being hunted and killed. So it's about him getting his family to safety. It's a VERY intense movie, and I hadn't seen it since I had my son, which made it hit a little differently this time around.
And holy shite, after about the first 20 minutes or so that movie is basically a nonstop roller coaster ride and has you on the edge of your seat for like an hour and ten minutes. It's pretty emotionally draining. But it's really, really good. Also has Pierce Brosnan in it too.
And I got to thinking about some of the most intense movies (or scenes), and how this one has to rank up there all-time for me.
Another one for me is the last 15 or so minutes of The Kingdom. Jamie Foxx, Jason Bateman, Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner movie about a terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia. The whole movie is fantastic, but man the last 15 minutes or so are SUPER intense...I won't get into it in the OP in case someone hasn't seen it, but feel free to discuss it in the thread; just label spoilers appropriately please.
What are some of your favorite/most intense movies or scenes?

Beginning of Inglorious Bastards is about as intense as it gets.
Incredible scene.

not a movie, but the Jessica Jones episode "House of a Thousand cuts" is, to me, one of the most brutal episodes of a show i have watched.

Good one as well.
Side note: This also led me to a rewatch of No Escape, the 1994 movie starring Ray Liotta:
It's a cool, fun movie. But my memories of it were a little off. I remember it being awesome back then, but watching it now it just wasn't overly good. But it just isn't very well acted or written. Ray Liotta is some badass that just has the upper hand in every single scene to the point that it gets tiresome. But the plot is that he is a badass who keeps escaping prisons, so he's sent to this island in the middle of the ocean that is its own prison system, and there are warring factions on the island (essentially good guys versus assholes).
Despite my being disappointed in it, it's definitely still entertaining enough for those interested. And I've been looking for it streaming for a while now, and it's finally available from several sources (I believe I watched it on Freevee).

First thing that came to my mind. Also the scene where she sits down with Hans for lunch to see if they could use her theatre. The basement bar room scene made me nervous as hell too.
No Country for Old Men when Anton is at the old fill in station making the old man call heads or tails.
Classic one is Dial M For Murder attempted murder scene. Probably my favorite Hitchcock scene.

I found Greyhound with Tom Hanks to be pretty intense the whole movie.

i often think about this one. there's always a scene in a QT movie that has you on edge, just knowing that violence is seconds away
- SLJ taunting Dern in H8
- ranch scene in Once Upon a time
- mandingo deal in Django

If you like that, then you should love the entire movie No Way Out - specifically the on-foot chase scene with Costner.
Also, Nightcrawler with Jake G. The scene that the guy sets up outside the restaurant. Phew.

Interstellar, Inception and Dunkirk all have some pretty intense sequences IMO.
