An inept charter captain, his moronic deckhand, a "Professor" and even a hot chick from Kansas would never be missed. A millionaire industrialist and his wife ought to garner a fair amount attention, but maybe not. However, not a one of us can believe that Hollywood wouldn't have moved heaven and earth to find Ginger Grant.

Chuck.

Sure his humor was endearing, but that does not explain him marrying Yvonne Strahovsky.

Mistaken identity going a long way.

Such as: Pulling off being a long-lost family member.

I can actually explain this.

What if the whole thing was because of the professor was giving a speech on the environment to these touring individuals in Hawaii?

In reality, they'd have killed Gilligan after he fricked up the second day resume attempt. If they would have had to stay more than 3 months, Mary Ann and Ginger would have been pregnant.

That's certainly a plausible explanation as to how they ended up on the Minnow together, although it seems a man like Thurston Howell III would have his own yacht. And it would probably be more seaworthy.

Skipper should have had his license revoked for gross negligence. How did he not know that storm was coming? Did he even turn on his radio or check with the harbor master for a weather forecast? And they tried to make us think Gilligan was the dumb one!

The Minnow wasn't exactly a Miami Vice Scarab. She looked like she might make about 12 knots of headway. How far away from port could they have been on a three hour tour? Major SAR failure...

But frick all that, I still say Hollywood would have mounted the biggest search since Amelia Earhart disappeared to find Ginger Grant. You know she had to be a huge star if she was wearing an evening gown on a boat day trip.
