They are just starting to run commercials for it on HC. They had a full page report in the Town Talk. Its gonna be such bullshite, the family that owns it arent even Cajun, but since its from Louisiana it has to be Cajun.

And I'm pretty sure Pawn Stars is falls just short of HC finding items, giving them to actors, and doing some bullshite hassling in front of the cameras. It probably isn't as far away from that as I would like to believe though. Plus, Chumlee is a really bad actor. They should let him be naturally stupid instead of have him reciting lines to make him appear stupid.
I work with a guy that was watching it one day and recognized a friend of his from when he lived in San Diego selling some suit of armor. He called the guy up and was told that he was in the store just checking it out...they asked him if he wanted to be a part of the show, showed him the armor and basically gave him a history lesson on it and had him come back in as if he was trying to sell it. So, you are right.

I'd rather watch American Guns.
SOG has always looked ridiculous to me. We have one of the finest fab shops in the world?
A bunch of HS dropouts running lathes, drill presses and welders doesn't equal "Finest fab shop in the world."

Are you seriously trying to ruin my two favorite things in the same thread?

I understand that the networks have to make the shows entertaining to compete for viewers, but to the extent that most of them are now going is beyond ridiculous. I have no problem with them needing to fim multiple takes to make sure that all of the bases are covered, but now it seems that most of these shows are completely staging every aspect with some even going as far as hiring "actors" to play the role of customer.
You can't really hate on Sons of Guns for doing the exact same thing that every other "reality" show is doing. However it just goes to show you that very little is real about any of these shows. Like another poster previously mentioned, at least goofy shows like Hardcore Pawn can make it so ridiculous and ghetto that you can't help but laugh when watching.

Now they have that new Cajun Pawn Stars at Silver Dollar Pawn in Alexandria on History Channel. Probably going to have some crack head from Turner St. in their trying to hock some bullshite stolen stereo system.
My grandfather was asked to use his truck in the shooting of this show/special... He has some classic truck that he has been fixing up, but he said no to them because they wanted to have someone else drive it.
He said nobody was gonna drive his truck but him.

This. In the first season, Flem couldnt even weld, and now he's "the" crack welder of the shop. You dont go from barely using a MIG gun to using a heliarc on a regular basis overnight. Reality TV is stupid and fake.

They're shipping in coonasses from Avoyelles Parish to sell all their stuff. It's a big conspiracy to kill Swap Shop.
