GoT is now my all-time favorite - eclipsing Breaking Bad and Lost.

The Walking Dead was cool the first few seasons, but like the graphic books, it has faded drastically

You're being difficult.

Analogy to what I'm talkin' about:

I invent Coca Cola. The first soft drink.

It cannot be overrated. It is the only one of its kind. Sure, it's use may be really really nasty, but it cannot be overrated because there is nothing to compare it to.

But you cannot say that it isn't groundbreaking

I'll give the first and second season the ok. The makeup was better, seems like they tried harder and approached it with a better logic. Now all the dead are in long sleeves, long dresses and etc. Because they have gotten lazy. It suffers, May be budget restrictions but it has suffered.

The Walking Dead has no equal.

Because nobody else has made a TV show of zombies. The writing is weak and inconsistent with an incredibly slow pace. I'm pretty sure AMC doesn't care and only wants to squeeze every penny they can out of the show.

Season one of TWD was good TV. Plodded through 2-3 and gave up. Absolute garbage. Jon Bernthal is the only person to ever be on that show with real talent.

Andrew Lincoln is a pretty good actor. The majority of actors in the show are bad.

It's not a zombie show.

It's a post-apocalyptic show.

Nothing has been put to film that went in this amount of detail with what to do when everyone dies off and you have to survive.

The score isn't up to par either, music can make a world of differences. The title theme was ok, stood out..but the rest of it isn't that good.

It doesn't change the fact that it has faded big time over time. While a show like GOT has increased in popularity from season to season.

I can go get a great steak burrito from Taco Bell.

I also can go get a great steak from Ruth's Chris,

You can't compare them.

I can't tell you that an HBO produced Walking Dead would have been better or worse than GOT. I like the GOT source material better, but frick, it's pretty impressive what WD has done with a cable budget.

It's "the road" but with walking corpses. Man, I had high hopes for it after season 1. Growing up I was always a fan of romeros first 3 films and even the 1990 remake. My arms are covered in the black and gray ink of reanimated corpses..

I wish it was a better show, better delivery and direction mainly. Their format bothers me and I feel it's more amc than the show. Doesn't need to be 16 episodes with at least 4 each season about a minor character no one cares for.

I agree it's had a lot put into it, but it feels like a lot of wasted motion.

Yet breaking bad did it on the same network and I put breaking bad over game of thrones.

Even the dead is better in GoT than TWD. And GoT is groundbreaking. Never before have we seen such epic battles on a consistent basis that GoT.

You are giving credit to TWD being ground breaking bc in your opinion it is the best apocalyptic story on TV ever. Why doesn't GoT get the same consideration simply bc it is the best of its genre?

And that is my point.

I am finished debating my point. I have said everything I need to say to respond to the OP saying that TWD logically cannot be overrated.

The budget has nothing do with how inconsistent the writing is. The entirety of last season could've been condensed to half as many episodes. It's telling when AMC wants to do 20 seasons of this.

Even though TWD unique it's still a TV show and thus the quality, writing, acting, etc. can be compared to other shows. So it can be considered overrated.
