Expand on why GoT is overrated. Just because it has a massive following?

Honestly, I don't think you can say the Walking Dead is overrated.

It is the best, most involved post-apocalyptic story ever put to film.

The only think that gets close may be the entire Planet of the Apes series.

What it is doing in this long-form TV series is what films can never achieve.

GoT is just another tale with castles, kings, queens, and knights. But it is a good one. You can argue when it is over if it is/was overrated, but you cannot say the Walking Dead is overrated. That's like saying James Dean was overrated. Or Elvis, or the Beatles, or any new first thing was overrated.

You might not like it, but that doesn't mean it isn't special to the form.

Game of Thrones has better battle scenes and visuals than most movies so it's not just another fantasy TV show.

Considering that I've never met anyone who didn't think that Walking Dead was pure shite I guess it's GoT by default.

I understand, but it is not as groundbreaking as Walking Dead.

And I am not saying it is bad, I am saying that you can compare it now or later.

The Walking Dead has no equal.

P.S. I don't understand why my post of objective logic was downvoted. It is fact.

Walking Dead and it's not even close.

GOT seems to build and get better. WD gets weaker each season

Of course no one says TWD is overrated. You know why? Because no one thinks TWD is very good.

And I am not saying that it is good.

But you cannot say that it isn't groundbreaking and in that sense must be forever removed from the conversation of overrating...basically, there's nothing that compares to it. It is by itself.
