I think McAvoy? Ewan's roles have been mostly supporting or in less well known movies if you exclude Star Wars, which was bad but still blockbusters.
McAvoy has X-men plus performances like Split and Last King of Scotland. And a few others I'm certainly forgetting

McGregor, just on the strength of Trainspotting. That's a hugely iconic movie and he was the star of it. I don't think McAvoy has been in anything that had such a huge influence on pop culture, fashion or music.

Well, I can name a bunch of Ewan McGregor movies, and I've never heard of this other dude... so it's an easy pick for Ewan.
Or Gerard Butler.
Or Brian Cox.
And either way, they are just keeping the chair warm until Sean Connery unretires from acting.
