Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children...any one seen?

I decided to watch it last night. Figured it'd have the same visual approach as A Series of Unfortunate Events. Especially with Tim Burton directing. I suspected a dulled down Harry Potter world meets Xmen character plot meaning they live in a setting separated from reality and the characters are ostracized from normality due to their abilities...or Peculiarities I should say.
It half way confirmed my suspicions with the setting being that of Series of Unfortunate Events and the separation of society due to their abilities. I thought it was an interesting movie and I'm a big Eva Green fan (thanks to the second 300 movie HA). Sam L Jackson...jesus. Is there not a movie genre he hasn't been apart of?! The way the Hallows regained their human form was a bit odd for my taste...literally haha. For those who have seen will understand that without spoilers. Despite the movie being right at 2 hours or so, it seemed like the story went by kind of fast. Could have been due to the beginning somewhat dragging to introduce the back story maybe?
Overall...entertaining to watch and don't think it was a waste of time. Very different from the typical movie experience IMO.

Watched it last night as well. Much better than I expected. As for pace I agree it moved well. My opinion differs with regards to the end. Felt it sped up and just didn't give enough time to Jake "finding" them again.
Oh as for Eva, if the 300 movie got you there check out The Dreamers.

good call. I wish they would have shown more of his time gap pursuits. I did like how they had him join the navy/military similar to his grandpa. thought that was a cool aspect.
Maybe you can help me out on the Jake and Emma "relationship". Emma supposedly had given up on love according to Enoch. Emma was visually upset when Abe's leaving was brought up. Did I miss something timeline wise to not think maybe Emma was in love with younger Abe?

No you didn't miss it. I'm of the opinion her young love for Abe, her not being able to leave the loop and his leaving to slay the Hollows / hallows (?)were the reasons for her giving up on love.

Wife and I took my mother in law to see the movie. It was one of the WORST movies I have ever paid $ to see. Good God it was awful

not all movies are for everyone. I can see how it would get hated on by viewers who don't enjoy that genre. I'm not discrediting your opinion. to each their own.

Very good movie. I enjoyed it thoroughly, as did my son. My wife thought it was weird as shite and did not particularly care for it (didn't hate it, but didn't like it much either).

I enjoyed it as well. The only thing I was disappointing with is that it looks like they will not continue to make them. I think they could have made a few of them.

They easily could have considering it is from a series of books.
If you liked the movie...you will enjoy the books.
