One question I have is is he supposed to act like a little kid because he has some sort of arrested development due to the plane crash?

I will stick with it a bit longer but holy shite through 4 episodes this show is so boring.

I absolutely hated the actor that played Danny Rand. Who is this guy? Has he acted in any thing else

I think he was to some degree, with very limited understanding of business, people, relationships, etc. But he seemed too consistently stupid and naive to be a good protagonist. If he earned the title of Iron Fist he should have been more confident and wise to some degree (and certainly have been a better fighter).

I actually enjoyed it. I think it was better than Luke Cage and large portions of Jessica Jones.

I thought Loras did a solid job playing Danny Rand and had moments where he really captured the peace loving Buddhist/tortured soul that's been Rand's personality in the comics for several years.

I would blame most of it's shortcomings on the producers/directors. I mean were the fight coordinators for Daredevil unavailable? Between the fight choreography and the fact that we're supposed to believe that millionaires routinely use a Hyundai Santa Fe as their choice of transportation, it seems like they tried to save production money on all the wrong things.

The critic's backlash over the whole whitewashing/white savior thing would be comical if wasn't so pathetic. These people obviously have no idea who Iron Fist is. If you want to know why we'll never get an Iron Man movie with the Mandarin as the actual villain, just look at the ignorant outrage over Iron Fist.

That and being raised for the rest of his years in a place that placed honesty and honor above all else. Also, as time passes we tend to romanticize certain things from the past. Considering how rough the training was I wouldn't doubt he romanticized his former life in NYC to quite a good degree. All of this could have led to his initial outlook, but yeah you would think after a while of being screwed over he would gain a little wisdom into the nature of certain people.

For me most of the fight scenes were adequate with one or two specific moments being really good. The main problem for me was the stereotypical responses by the board members. It was as if the writers blew their creativity wad on who the Hand was working with.

Along with that the nearly constant whining about "no killing" and violence from Claire damned near made me stop watching.

This irked me as well. I used to think she was a good character but this drove me nuts. Let me complain about you violent folk while I quit my job to learn martial arts, help violent folk, and practice using these giant metal hand claws.

Yeah, most of the time it seemed to be coming from a preachy "killing is bad, mmkay." angle which was annoying and seemed a little out of character for someone who had seen what Claire had seen. Near the end she talked about knowing people with powers where killing just made them darker, and that's a much better argument. Can't have all these super humans go to the dark side.

I finished it tonight and the criticism is definitely over done. I liked it. The fight scenes also got better as it went on. The first several episodes they were dull and boring, but from the drunken master on they were decent to good.

I loved this scene. The drunken master originally tried out for the part of Danny. He definitely has the skills.

I'm interested in how Defenders works with all of the characters now that we've been introduced.

POSSIBLE BIG SPOILER ALERT

There's supposedly a behind the scenes video where Misty Knight is severely injured and Colleen Wing is coming to her aid. Could this be the beginning of her getting the bionic arm?

I didn't read through the spoilers bc I'm on episode 4, but so far I've enjoyed it.

I went in thinking this was going to be a "goofier" Daredevil. And it seems to be so far, not as serious of a tone but similar action/fights. This show has grabbed my attention better than JJ and LC. I don't give a damn about the missing Asian lead, although it would have been the correct route. I like how his fist isn't so far over the top or watered down. You get the point and it hasn't been over used, yet. And I'm also enjoying how the series have all been tied together without the main heroes being seen (except LC in JJ).

LC was brutal, JJ had the most depth, and DDs were just great IMHO.

I've only seen through episode 6 so far.

Spoiler from episode 5 (I think).

I was pretty proud of myself for picking up a small Easter Egg when they were introducing the people Danny would fight in order to get the Chemist daughter back.

When they were showing the Entomologist chick, on the door to her lab it showed B-09-S, a nod to her being the Bride of Nine Spiders.

I couldn't tell if they were referencing any of the other Immortal Weapons in those fights though.

My problem with Luke Cage is you've got a guy that bullets bounce off of. It takes a hell of a lot more than a gangster nightclub owner to be a danger to him.

Exactly. And, to top it off, Cottonmouth's motivations and character are so stock and cliche that I really don't understand how people even think he was great. Ali played him well, but his character sucked dick.

However cliché they may have been, they were still more clearly expressed and made much more sense than Diamondback's. Maybe he wasn't a great character in a vacuum. But he was certainly a great villain relative to the others in the series.

I thought Diamondback was terrible and Mariah was underwhelming. Scarfe was the only one even close to as interesting as Cottonmouth, and he was also gone much too early in the series.

I think it's more that once you see enough of Diamondback, he is so unbelievably terrible that you really wish Cottonmouth were still the villain.

So I thought it was pretty good. DD is still my favorite of the Netflix Marvel shows. I remember liking JJ a little more as well. I only got halfway through Luke Cage though.

Found a fight scene that tops anything I have seen so far in Iron Fist.

I am through 3 episodes so far and it is a struggle. The whole mental ward part was painful. I feel for the guy, but I don't understand his plan or powers. But I'm getting there.

As far as the other shows, I liked JJ the best. The villain was so good and unique. I just couldn't stop watching. I didn't like DD that much, but the 2nd season was really good. I'm a punisher fanboy though. Cage just didn't hook me and I gave up halfway through. I'll probably go back to it.

Not with the Marvel plot but just so it would be cool to see a handicap, black, woman, and Asian fighting.
