Two-time Oscar®-winner Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine,” “Carol, “Cinderella”) joins Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, along with Jeff Goldblum (the upcoming “Independence Day: Resurgence,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Jurassic Park”) who joins the cast as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson (“Creed,” “Selma”) who will bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen, and Karl Urban (“Star Trek” trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”) who will add his might to the fray as Skurge.

What accent would she use? The character's name is Brunnhilde. Would it be English, Norse, German?

Well everyone in Asgard so far has been British except for Frigga, so........

And Heimdall already exists in this universe.

Marvel's movies aren't without their faults, but they just get casting.

How come there is ZERO impetus to cast Asians and Hispanics? Do they have any?

They have already done the "edgy" casting of someone supposedly Norse with a black guy, why not Antonio Banderas as something or that chick from Modern Family?

B.D. Wong (Wong) - Doctor Strange
Claudia Kim (Helen Cho) - Age of Ultron
Zendaya (Ava Ayala) - Spider-Man: Homecoming
Tadanobu Asano (Hogun) - Thor, Thor: The Dark World
Kenneth Choi (Jim Morita) - Captain America: The First Avenger
Michael Pena (Luis) - Ant-Man
Max Hernandez (Jasper Sitwell) - Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Zoe Saldana (Gamora) - Guardians of the Galaxy
Dave Bautista (Drax) - Guardians of the Galaxy

Also in Agents of SHIELD, you have Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Chloe Bennett (Daisy Johnson, Bennett is half-Chinese), Mark Dacascos (Giyera), Dichen Lachman (Jiayang), Juan Pablo Raba (Joey Gutierrez), and Natalia Cordova-Buckley (Slingshot)

If they ever put Ms. Marvel (the current one) on film or TV, that's a Middle Eastern ("Asian") character as well.

I like the casting. She was excellent in Creed.

Fanart of Blanchett as Hela

The strange thing is that if they follow the comics exactly, Hela is Loki's daughter.

No, B.D. Wong plays "Wong", Doctor STEVEN Strange's assistant in the Sanctum Sanctorum.

He currently plays Hugo Strange on Gotham. Two completely different properties.
