Hilariously, you hit all of the characteristics of the holier-than-thou leftist who has absolutely no self-awareness whatsoever.

I dunno, the only time I can recall X-Men in the comics being welcomed into a community was when they moved to San Francisco (see what Marvel did there, cheeky bastards).

Magneto is usually an outcast as well but he gets it worst since he is a Jew who survived the Holocaust. He was usually the Malcolm X to Professor Xavier's MLK. So without Prof X, it will be interesting to see the dynamic they take the show.

Ah wait no, political thread. Typical.”

I could post a thread that says, "I wonder if the candy from Willy Wonka was actually any good..." and it'd turn into a political thread in 2-3 pages.

That's a really good analogy.

I know the comics have shown what happens if Xavier dies very early on (Age of Apocalypse) - in that one Magneto tries to do what Xavier did but to much worse results. They were still friends and had not yet fought against each other.

Magneto has a very chaotic comic history, and has been on the side of the X-Men as well as a villain. In Secret Wars (the one from the 80s) the Beyonder placed him with Earth's heroes because of how he perceived himself (fighting to defend mutants).

This shouldn't be confused with the Ultimate universe version, who was just a massive douchebag who screwed with the Earth's axis and caused the storyline Ultimatum that saw a LOT of deaths (including Doctor Strange, Daredevil, Beast, some other X-Men, etc.) when the ocean flooded New York City (and caused Latveria to freeze over, etc.)

I fully expect people to claim the discrimination the X-Men face in this mirror what the LGBTXYZ movement face.

I mean he is gay in the comics
This lame shite again.

Yeah, the SJW's who took over Marvel made him gay in 2013 after he'd been around for decades, at the same time they created muslim Ms. Marvel and others.

But, you knew that.

Eh, I never minded when the new creative team at Marvel introduced new characters that represented their backgrounds. If we want to keep screaming that minorities should make their own characters if they want representation, than we don't really get to scream when they finally do. I also don't mind rarely used or forgotten characters get revamped.

What I tend to really dislike is when they start changing a well established character to be out of context to their natural behavior simply to make them fit into a box they want.

That being said, it's on a streaming platform, and the allegory is a direct one to the Civil Rights movement of the 60s (when they were originally created).

This was not a thing when the X-Men were created. The whole civil rights allegory did not come until much later. They created mutants because they didn't have to keep coming up with back stories for how they got their powers.

No dummy. That's not why the X-Men were created.

The X-Men were created in 1963; the same year as the March on Washington.

So completely unrelated to politics; I decided to watch the original with my boys since the theme song was stuck in my head all day. My 8yo just wanted to play Roblox instead but the 5yo loved it and we're going to binge more tomorrow.

really awesome they are sticking with the old animation style and not modernize it.

Looks to me like they upgraded it. I never really liked the old style. Was kinda meh to me.

Isn't this what they did with Morph? I don't recall him being gay or "trans" or nonbinary or whatever in the 90s. No one was trans or binary in the 90s.
