I never see a thread on this show. I enjoy watching it and it stays apolitical for the most part. The main character even defended CIA torture in Afghanistan and Iraq...she even ordered it when she was in the CIA.
But my biggest complaint is they are too ready to violate the sovereignty of other countries and try to police the entire world. Tonight's episode is a perfect example. Some staffer is going nuts because they won't save some gay guy from being stoned to death in Iran. That is no way, shape, or form our responsibility. It has absolutely nothing to do with us, yet they tried to orchestrate a prisoner swap to "free" this gay guy and were going to donate some multi-million dollar F-16's to lubricate the deal (pun intended).
The writers of the show are clearly very passionate about this, but it ticks me off that they paint it as the only moral thing to do. The moral thing is to worry about the U.S. and let other countries worry about themselves unless their actions in some way go counter to U.S. interests.
