Dial back the action a bit, and the Mel Gibson movies, especially Road Warrior, look like that YouTube video. Miller was pushing the bar with actual stunts and real road chases 35 years ago. It's impressive.

I take it you've never seen a silent film before...

Pretty amazing.
In 10-20 years it will only be seen in a better light to as you likely will have CGI continue to be more pervasive in movies.

Just crazy good.

I had only heard good things, was pumped about watching it. Then I did and I fricking hated it. Im not hard on movies. I cant stand how negative people can be on movies that are meant to be fun and all. But I thought this movie was horrible

Movie was boring and pointless. I don't give a shite about how the movie was made.
It's as if this movie is supposed to entertain me with everything but the actual movie. I'm supposed to like the music, the scenery, the cgi. How about the actual movie and it's story, which I could give two shits about.

I went in thinking this movie was going to be pretty good B/c of the hard ons on this board over it. When it ended I felt like I wasted an hour and half of my life.

I wonder of they had to make special seats for the stunt people?

It has to be uncomfortable when your balls are as big as watermelons.

I've never said this on the board before because people like different things and god knows I don't understand why some movies are praised beyond belief, but Fury Road is the best action movie I've seen in a decade.

So here we go:

You have horrible taste.

Starting this thread reminds me that there are a lot of miserable people who can't enjoy something good.

Could you imagine if you were out there dirt biking for shits and gigs and you see a convoy of that heading towards your way without picking out any filming crew? That would be insane.

And even more that are enthralled by bright shiny objects.

(Not miserable, enjoy good things.)

I don't want to not like a movie. I want to enjoy everything I watch. I'm not into wasting time on crap I don't like. I just did not like this movie at all. There aren't many movies I don't like.

My wife and I watched this with her sister and brother-in-law. At the end, Brice and I were awestruck, which my wife and her sister had the same look as that little blonde girl in the carseat with the WTF eyes going back and forth.

This really was the prettiest film made last year. It was like a Western version of one of those Chinese operatic action movies (Crouching Tiger, etc)

I'm the same way. You didn't like this movie for the same reason I didn't really like it a lot...it wasn't very good.

Yes, it was very "visual" and the stunts and shite that they did were cool (and that video in the OP is wicked). But as a movie in itself, it wasn't very good at all.

Imagine what Miller would have done when Justice League landed in his lap years ago.

I wonder how bad arse that movie would have been . . .
