MIB, FLocke said Kate's been crossed off, but do we know that for sure?

the writers said they meant for a cave scene to show kate crossed off..
why is it so hard to believe MIB will tell the truth sometimes... he isnt gonna lie about everything.
the writers aren't gonna have him say all kinds of things only to go back and say "hah, we tricked you". it would be bad writing

Kate and Sawyer haven't died yet though. So they are still free. Sayid (by drowning) and Claire (barracks explosion by Keamy's men) died and were claimed and brought back to life in a zombie fashion by MIB.

Just thought of something, and it makes more sense why Ben himself killed Locke instead of letting Locke hang himself: If he had tried to hang himself, then Locke couldn't have killed himself since he was a candidate and touched by Jacob. Ben may have known that Locke was not able to kill himself, so he literally had to talk him down and kill Locke himself.

But to me that seemed like Ben being jealous of Locke's position more than him being a knowing part of a bigger design. I don't think Ben knew he had to kill him. Just my impression of the scene and subsequent scenes, especially when FLocke was walking around on the beach after the plane crash. Ben was genuinely shocked to see him. He thought he had gotten rid of him for good.
I will say that it would have been cool if Locke has tried to hang himself and kept failing, much like the dynamite lighting of Alpert. That would have been a nice touch.

Watched the episode last night. Nice episode. Provided some valuable information. Jin's sideflash meshing with Sayid's made the episode for me. I didn't really care about the sideflash until that point.
It'll be interesting to see Kate and Sawyer's sideflashes mesh since he ran into her at the end of his.

That's true, landshark. Michael couldn't kill himself off island either. Nice pickup.
Also, I think that Ellie kind of knew this was about to happen. She knew about the guy in the red shoes in Season 3 ep Flashes before my eyes about Des breaking up with Pen. But Ben still needed to know how to find her since they weren't working together on that. Elie (I call her mother time) may have told Widmore, or even coordinated with him on getting the 6 back to the island (remember how close they are, being Farraday's parents and working on the island together before Charles was banished from it).
Also, Ben knew he would be the leader of the Others with Locke gone, but I think you nailed the real reason, or at least the main one.

I know Ben didn't know his part to play in the big design, but he just knew Locke couldn't kill himself.

Ben didn't know that.

Ben certainly knew it about Michael and probably Richard, so him assuming that Locke couldn't kill himself either is fairly likely, especially since he was thought to be very special. There are rules to killing in LOST that we currently aren't fully aware of, but Ben seems to be.

it's an interesting theory/assumption; I just don't buy it.

i know who he is, but how did "FLOCKE" get that name?

"Fake/False" Locke is what I've always assumed.

In the Lighthouse, Hurley turned the wheel intending for it to hit 108 degrees (it was on his arm, instructions from Jacob).

108 came back to the island, like I said before.
