Owen Wilson kills me in this movie.

"Ok, scariest place imaginable. That's all you had to say, scariest place imaginable."

That kills me every time.

I enjoy the movie and tend to watch it if I come across it flipping channels.

Strangely, for me, the weak points of the movie are the drilling and action scenes on the asteroid. The human interaction stuff is fine and the earth based stuff at the beginning on the oil rig was pretty good.

But the drilling stuff on the asteroid just didn't deliver for me for some reason.

But other than that I think it's a good fun movie. It's no Tommy Lee Jones sitting on the moon to a Frank Sinatra tune. But what is.

That's six words..

SFP is right, it's pretty much the perfect popcorn movie. It's overly ridiculous at almost all points, yet for whatever reason it just plain works and is tons of fun.

People love to hate on Michael Bay, but dude knows how to make an entertaining movie. It may not be great, or even good sometimes, but they're entertaining.

"American components, Russian components... ALL MADE IN TAIWAN!"

I didn't realize for a long time that JJ Abrams wrote part of the script.

I love the black cab driver at the beginning of the movie:

Asian tourist: Why we not going?
Cab driver: You know why? Because this is New York City. Anything can happen. It could've been a terrorist bomb, a dead body, somebody shot/stabbed, and it's finally payday, too. Somebody probably jumped because they didn't get their pay check.

Cab driver: (pointing to asteroids) Look at that! We at war! Saddam Hussein is bombin' us!

I have seen this movie more than any other, except maybe Jurassic Park.

quote:

love how even Ben Afleck knew about the movies gaping premise problem. When he asked Bay why is it easier to train oil drillers to be astronauts than astronauts to be oil drillers, Bay said to STFU.

And I argued this too. I argued drillers turned astronauts are easier than astronauts turned drillers.

Love this movie. It's so awesomely bad. But it sucks me in whenever it comes on TV.

Definitely my "guilty pleasure" movie.

That is the best line in the movie!
