Why didn't Rocky just dance around Clubber for 15 rounds if he was that tired in just 3? Seems like Clubber would've been dead on his feet in the middle of a normal fight. Apollo would've used that strategy.

That seemed to be Mickey's general idea. He didn't want Rocky going toe to toe with Clubber but did want him to take his time. He made a point of noting that Clubber never had to go the distance.

He was probably counting on that plus Rocky's famed ability to take a beating to carry him until Clubber wore himself out.

Also, for all we know, it was Rocky that got Apollo killed.

No. Rocky was a man. He was a fighter. He was a warrior. He owed it to Apollo to let him die a warrior's death.

Apollo, for all intents and purposes, was dead already on the inside.

Rocky, Ronald Reagan's right hand man, then went on a tear of vengeance going into full Stallion mode, chopping the Russian down, conquering Mother Russia, and ending the Cold War.

why there was no rubber match

There is no such thing as a rubber match. There is, however, a rubber game of a match.

What good would it have done for Rocky to throw in the towel in Drago vs. Creed? The ref obviously tries to stop Drago when Creed is in the corner and Drago just keeps punching.

In Rocky III he is listed at 202 when he fought Hulk Hogan and then trimmed down to 192 after Apollo trained him to fight Clubber in the re-match. Really? 192-202lbs? Laughable...Stallone was down to 160 max....he is short and had 3% bodyfat.....he would have never been fighting as a heavyweight, especially since they list Clubber at 230.....we are talking a 40lb difference in the movie and probabaly a 50 lb difference in real life

Rocky Balboa (Rocky 6) is perfect. Anyone who disagrees has no soul.

What did they list Drago as? I am sure that was a walking mismatch if there ever was.

I've refused to watch V since the first time I watched that lump of shite.

1-4 is solid, I can't help but watch when they come on now.

I know Creed is known to showboat but do you think if Apollo didn't run his mouth so much at Drago, would Drago have treated the match like an exhibition instead of killing Apollo?

He seemed hell bent on showing his super human strength. And then he said, if he dies, he dies... So there is that. Doesn't seem like he had any remorse.

Also he killed Apollo. I know he wasn't from the U.S. But no one from this country wanted to charge him with some type of murder??? They just let him go back to his country without nothing. Was Drago protected from some type of immunity?

I'm thinking both fighters knew the risk of getting in the ring. But it seemed like a shot at the US to kill one of its best fighters(although a has been as they put it). I guess they assumed Rocky would avenge. :lol

Also Bridgitte Neilsen is frickin terrible in that movie.

Biggest flaw of the movies is that nobody ever put their hands up and every punch was so brutal

You ever see Gatti vs Ward I, especially round 9? Gatti vs Ward II, especially round 3, Gatti vs Ward III?

Hagler vs Hearns?

Those dudes are barely standing up. Rocky would start fights with his hands down.

You can't possibly be arguing that any of the Rocky fights have any semblance of realism, right?

In round three of Lang-Balboa II Rocky is walking right up to Clubber pointing at his own face and yelling at Lang to hit it. In "real life" the ref stops the fight cold in its tracks at that point.

i hated the killing of Creed, it didn't make me hate Drago, it made me hate the wrting. I know people feel like it was a great move to add emotion to the fight..but, to me it just didn't fit right.

In Creed's prime he would have smoked Clubber Lang. He would have broken down Tommy by round 5. Drago..I don't know. He also could have easily handled Dixon.

Creed was the most talented and smartest fighter in the series.

Drago was like Kane when Kane first came out.
