Late night horror hosts from the 80s...help?

I am trying to remember the name of a late night horror host who was active in the mid 80s and aired on Houston area TV stations. He was a white male. His character was a mad scientist.
He was not Morgus the Magnificent nor was he Billy Bob Briggs.
