Norm is phoning it in. He's such a dud of a judge.

I though the comic Sammy Obeid tonight was pretty solid. Going to research some more of his stuff.

Have not watched but surprised it is back.

Hell, a few years ago they didn't even air the finale to announce the winner because the ratings were in the toilet. With no warning, it disappeared, and they announced the winner on the network morning show. They ran it later on Comedy Central.

Is Buck Star still trying to get on?

Maybe they are using Schumer being so hot right now as leverage.

I love Norm in general but I almost always disagree with all 3 judges.

Jeselnik is batting about .900 at making me LOL, he is killing it as host. Didn't see him doing so well in that role.

I like the show. Last year the show came back pretty big. I was kind of pulling for Rocky LaPorte who made it far but didn't win.

Interesting choices so far this year. The judges picked a few to advance who just aren't funny but I'm sure it will even itself out once eliminations start.

you cant judge this show based on past history, its literally a whole new show year after year

last year they reinvented it and it worked, this year the same

they kept it simple and didnt prolong it. it works for what it is, a good timewaste during the summer with a few laughs

I just hate that they allow professionals. Greg Warren has a deal with Comedy Central for a special. Some stuff is funny on there but in general I don't find the judges add much.

have not watched yet but have dvr'ed. LCS has a history of the funniest person not winning. dat phan vs ralphie, etc.

they followed true to form last yr, no way joe machi wasn't the best.

i watch it for all the comics in auditions and usually at least half the finalists are worth watching. if you don't get caught up in who wins, and like standup, there are worse things on tv.

You don't think X Factor or Idol didn't have people from broadway on their shows?

yeah but the thing with that is what point are you considered a pro?

if you have a half hour or hour special on CC? if you have a CD out? if you're a working road comic? if you're able to support yourself doing nothing but comedy?

there's just so many different levels that would be a hard thing to classify.

and the more of those people you exclude the easier it will be to realize that standup is hard bc the show would probably not be funny and be full of a bunch of amateurs that think they have 30 min when they only have a good 5 or 10.

and that's the next issue. with repeated rounds and battles you need comics who have at least an hour anyway or you'd hear the same crap every week.

I agree. Jeselnik does well on the Roasts.

He might have just found his niche with being a host with his ability to drop these 1 liners.

Maybe he can host an awards show & have his monologue not sound so robotic like so many others before him.
