Dude talks shite all game and then throws everything off his back foot to avoid being hit. Then he exaggerates an injury to come out of the game before a 4th down play to win a game. frick him. Hope he ends up 3rd string at Ohio University

Malik’s father just shows back up in his life around the time he’s going to play at a D1 school? All his pops is seeing is dollar signs, pretty shitty!

I never thought anybody could be worse than Buddy. Say what you will, at least he could run a program, it was just his methods that were off-putting.
JB isn't even a real coach. He doesn't do anything and then gets pissed when his players just can't out-talent his incompetence.

They are equally bad for different reasons
Buddy actually tries to be a legit coach and run a program. JB doesnt and acts like hes smart for doing so
JB for all his fault, doesnt seem like a legitimately bad person. Buddy was an awful person with absolutely no redeeming personal qualities.
I really dont know what's worse

He’s terrible
Yea I said that too early into an impression. He is a well meaning guy, much more so than Buddy. I think he means well but he isn’t a good communicator and he is a terrible x’s and o’s guy.

Just finished up the 4th episode. Buddy is a Boy Scout compared to this guy. Jesus

Malik is a tool but he is a product of his father. Feel for the kid.

For those who were curious about where they would go next, an interview pretty much confirms 100% the only reason they did EMCC two years was because of the way season one ended. In an interview the director stated:
quote:
Whose choice was it for production to leave EMCC?Why was that decision made?
Whitley: When we originally developed the series, we initially planned on doing each season at a different junior college. The way the first season ended, with the team being eliminated from the playoffs and essentially all of their starters and coaching staff being suspended for the first game of the 2016 season, we felt that there was more to this story to be told and we decided to do a second season at EMCC.

Why didn’t they highlight Calvin Jackson, who seemed to be the best offensive clutch performer? Every time they needed a play, it seemed to be him that made it.

I was rooting for Garden City. What coach actually brags about choking someone out?

Yep. I am sure he got all kinds of swag from all the firerent fake academy high schools Malik went to and on the recruiting visits. That's probably why he went to FSU, gave his dad $$$$ so ended up at a school on the other side of the country.

Couple things about the show. I’ve finished it but don’t think any of these are spoilers.
1. There were only like 4-5 likable guys. Both RBs and both WRs. Bobby is just a product of his environment and Emitt was pretty likable. Just boneheaded penalties that costed his team.
2. The show doesn’t show a whole lot of Xs and Os. I don’t know if that initial or what. Even during filming Buddy and his staff they never showed the HCs actually coaching. Just seemed like they had very talented and highly rated players that were suppose to know how to “turn” it on come game time.
3. It’s a great series by Netflix but I liked the First two season a whole lot better.
4. This kinda piggy backs off of 2. For the lack of Xs and Os coaching he did, it seemed like JB got out of his players everything they could. Or at least that’s how the show portrayed it.
5. Lol at him almost costing them the Garden City game because he wanted to run the score up. That was the worst possible way to play that last 4 minutes.

There is also a new episode about what happened to the people from the first two seasons. It's basically under season 4, episode 1.
I watched this episode (Part 4, Episode 1) before watching one episode of season 3. This was very compelling tv, particularly the end. I am really happy for Dakota Allen and hope Ollie plays somewhere this year.

compelling episode. Didn't think it made any sense for the judge to drop the charges against Isaiah Wright's brother while finding probable cause to keep Isaiah in jail. Personally, I don't think either brother knew the other two guys were gonna murder and rob the kid. Wonder if the DA will offer a plea to Isaiah where he testifies against the other two guys? If I'm him I'm seriously contemplating taking the murder case to trial

Gotdamn I have only been watching for about 25 minutes
ETA Fat Arse Coach in Hot Tub smoking a Cigar says its Jimmys and Joes not Xs and Os then loses game one by 50 points.

Finished the season tonight, spoilers probably***
Bobby broke my heart. I thought he was turning a corner. He got a B on his math test and wrote an English paper by himself. My wife almost cried when it showed he got arrested.
I'm a big fan of Rakeem Boyd and Carlos Thompson, going to be rooting for those guys. Also the white trash lineman from Nevada. Hope he never has to go back to that shite hole. Also rooting for Emmit Gooden.
They didn't really highlight Frank Jackson but he signed with Wazzu. He seemed like a beast.
The QB coach Diaz was way too soft.
I'm rooting against Malik Henry wherever he ends up.

Just started watching, does the head coach actually coach or does he just scream? They're getting blown the F out and he's arguing about what footballs to use.

I could have done a better job with a Zero gravity camp chair and a Yeti full of beer than that dude did in game one.

Must not have had a compelling enough backstory. The guy was a playmaker for sure.
