n case you missed it, when director Paul Feig announced that his upcoming Ghostbusters revival would star a group of women, some people were a little, how you say, upset about the whole thing.

Actually the announcement drew a tirade of vitriol and hate that was incredibly depressing and reminded us all just how toxic the Internet can be. Feig has already spoken out against the trolls multiple times, and now one of the stars of the film, Kristin Wiig, is speaking out as well.

no you aren't bitch.

Let's cast a remake of little women starring all hispanic men as the lead roles. Ya know, to honor it.

Of course it did. It's a project she was pumped about and everybody shite all over it (and rightfully so IMO).

But that's the biz, girl. Dems da breaks, and all that.

And that picture makes me want to punch Leslie Jones so much...even though she'd prolly whip my arse afterwards.

They aren't honoring anything but their own pocketbooks. This was a cheap money grab, plain and simple. It has nothing to do with them being women for me, but it doesn't help that's for sure. I feel like they are just shitting all over our childhoods with this shite. I damn sure won't be spending a dime on it, and I hope noone else does either.

I think the backlash comes down to a couple of things.

1. A lot of fans of the original would probably hate a remake, even if it was a group of 4 guys.
2. The two on the left. Jones is one of the least funny people to ever be on SNL, and there is some serious McCarthy fatigue.

I backlashed because of the choice in women, not because they are women.

because they were made first and foremost just to make it with women...or that is the perception that angered people.

Everything was fine until dickless here started writing this movie

Kristen wiig...so, she's a dog

You can't have a ghostbusters movie with no key master and I ain't talking bout Rick moranis, though you can't have it without him either

Link? Everything I've read from him concerning this specific GB movie has been supportive.

It was the Dan Akroyd written attempts at GB3 that Murray bad mouthed.

The fact that she doesn't understand why taking a beloved franchise, rebooting it, and announcing that they're ignoring all previous movies, and then they put Leslie Jones in there would upset some people bums me out.

For me, it has nothing to do with "them being women". I actually like Wiig and McKinnon. It's the way they're treating Ghostbusters that's insane to me.

I don't like that they are remaking it with women...not because it's women, but because it feels like the worst kind of pandering.

But then on top of that, to cast someone like leslie Jones just because she's a token black chick...it's just stupid. I actually don't have a problem with Wiig or even McCarthy so much, but Jones and that other chick are just bad casting IMO.

And then on top of THAT, it's something that shouldn't be remade anyway IMO. So yeah, it's gonna leave a bad taste in peoples' collective mouths.

McCarthy is reportedly getting $14M for this movie. If Wiig is getting that or more , she needs to stfu about being bummed.
