Sequel to the war documentary Restrepo. Anyone else seen these? I'm extremely impressed with both films, really helps to show the true brotherhood these guys have.

Watched it last night. Was very good although I thought restrepo was better.

It seemed that Restrepo went more in depth, can't believe these guys are 20 and going through this. Really don't think I'll ever be able to truly appreciate what our soldiers do.

It was more in depth I think partly because it was telling the story of the valley and everything that was going on. You didn't know what was going to happen because it was all new to the viewer.

Yea doing that at 20 is unreal. one of my best friends was over there fighting at that age and would occasionally call me to shoot the shite. He's asking me what I'm doing and up to. Well umm I went to the lsu game last night and got drunk all day tailgating....meanwhile he is in their situation

I watched it earlier this week. Both were really well done, but I thought Restrepo was better. I cannot imagine doing what those guys do.

Do yourself a favor, and watch The Last Patrol (HBO Doc)..At least look it up..It ties the movies up with a nice bow..

All the respect in the world for those guys. The mental grind of being in that valley for 10 months straight must have been extraordinary.

I conducted some ops in and outta of there during my deployment but nothing more than a few weeks. It was by far the most stressful Valley I went to while I was there. I was the unit stationed there prior to the restrepo unit.

I was fortunate to have deployed to Afghanistan in 04 when things were quiet.

Edit: There's also another good one called The Hornet's Nest.

There's a series on YT called Rescue Warriors about the training PJs go through. Kinda old though (filmed in 03 or 04).
The series you're talking about is probably Combat Rescue.

It was good, but not nearly as good as Restrepo.

Seemed to me Korengal was released because they had a lot of extra footage and needed something to do with it.
