So I saw this one last night. Kind of felt like a Harry Crews novel. Not for the squeamish, or for those who want to see a movie full of hope and good cheer. Darkly funny though and has great performances all the way around.

Yeah. Alamo Drafthouse. I had a couple choices though. God bless Austin.

Come back and let me know what you thought after you see it.

I saw it last night at the River Oaks theatre here in Houston. I'm still trying to process what I saw. McConaughey was great. I know that much.

I'll never look at a drumstick the same way again.

BTW, this lady (fortyish) came into the theater talking on her cell. She was telling someone that she didn't know anything about the movie, but that it had Matthew McConaughy in it. She became distraught when Gina Gershon opened the door for her stepson at the beginning (spoiler free sentence). 30 minutes later she was out the door.

I never understand why people see movies without knowing anything at all about them. The rating should have been the first clue that it wasn't light fare.

For those in New Orleans, the movie is showing at the Canal Place theaters starting tomorrow.

The crowd was mainly age 40+ during the showing that I went to. I was surprised that not a single person got up and left and any point due to the graphic storyline. I too, will not look at a "Kentucky Fried C" the same again. Btw, love your Bronson sig.

I caught it today and thought the same thing since they were a lot of older people in the crowd.

I was surprised at how much I laugh too. Definitely some funny moments to balance the dark subject matter.

Anyone has any wild theories about the open-ended ending?
