I have always believed that the truest sign of a genuinely great story is when you miss the characters after it is all over. Whether it be television, film or books, a writer who creates characters that live on in the heart is a classic author in every sense of the word.

Justified falls into this class. I loved this series while it was running, but since its conclusion I have found myself missing the characters more and more as time has passed. They are a part of me now like ex lovers or lost friends.

What's odd is how superior the television version of the series is compared to the novels. I am currently reading Pronto (Raylan's first book), and it does not come close to living up to the greatness of the show. Oliphant was iconic in his portrayal, and he gave one of the greatest character portrayals in the history of television.

Justified, you are truly missed

Some of the best banter between main characters in any series.

One of my all-time favorite shows. The dialogue was second to none, many quote-worthy classics.

I'd read that Walton Goggins said he wasn't ruling out the possibility of a Justified movie one day. I think they ended the show on a great note, but at the same time, I'd absolutely welcome seeing more...

As time passes it is creeping up to being my all time favorite. The strength of it from beginning to end is unheard of. While most other series fade towards the end, Justified only got stronger and finished with an absolute epic conclusion.

Cheers and Justified are the two greatest series finales ever

Justified is one of my favorites of all time as well (maybe second, only behind GOT). And Boyd Crowder may be one of my favorite all time characters as well. He definitely had a way with words. And him out-maneuvering the Bennetts in season two was epic.

I finally got to watch the last season this weekend and it was pretty great. It all sort of came together and they wrapped it up really well. The show always kind of spotlighted people you would just never expect and made you care for really flawed, maybe even bad people. For some reason I was really upset with the whole Choo-Choo part. I have no idea why I would even care about him.. but I did..

"We dug coal together."

Those Boyd and Raylan scenes were always the best. Season five stands out as a dip in quality, but I even enjoyed Michael Rappaport's horrible accent.

Great, great show.

Easily one of my favorite shows and such a great cast of characters. Might have to start rewatching the series soon.

Breaking Bad and Justified are the only TV shows I have watched from start to finish weekly without missing an episode.

Was thinking about Justified earlier today and couldn't stop bookmarking gifs...

If they were in chronological order, we could watch it all this way!

I go back and watch "Justified" stuff on YouTube all the time.

I've rewatched the series 4 times already.

And thanks for those GIFs - TImothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens is my number one actor/character combo of all time. That's my dream man right there. That walk! That face! That voice! Those eyes! That hair! That body!

I loved this series. it wasn't deep but boy was it enjoyable, a nice mix of self contained episodes and a series arc. I loved Boyd, he made the series IMHO. A worthy adversary.

And to MDS, the books were the inspiration for the series but they are soooo different. Try other elmore leonards over those, they just aren't that great.
